      Dreaming about lucid dreaming

      Hi guys,
Today i had a dream, where me and my family were sitting at the dining room table, and my brother told me that i was lucid dreaming, then my mum said the same but in portuguese, I started laughing and looked at my hands. Why didn't i go lucid?

And i've read that some people have non-lucid dreams about lucid dreaming, before they actually start having lucid dreams. Could this mean that i'm close?

Happens for the same reason all other non-lucid dreams occur. Pay more attention to dream signs. Talking about lucid dreaming is one of my dream signs, maybe it's one of yours too. You're getting closer each day. You'll have one tonight!

Yeah, I think you're really close now.
I know how it is. I often dreaming about this page, other LD pages or that I'm searching for meditations music for lucid dreaming. Haha, that's a shame when that happens, but we just have to keep trying, then I'm sure we gets our lucid dream soon! Maybe tonight!

      Good luck.

My first ld occurred the night after I had a dream about lucid dreaming so hopefully you'll have the same success. Just remember not to get discouraged if you don't. It will happen soon!
      Best of luck.

I was just replying to someone else in this forum who said the same thing happened to them. I'm pretty sure it's happened to me, too. Hopefully you'll have a dream soon where it just clicks and you become lucid. Good luck!

Yeah, it is really annoying when this happens. I have been trying to DEILD and I have had a few false awakenings where I have tried to DEILD but failed and all the time not realised that I was dreaming. I am trying so hard to DEILD that I have totally missed the opportunity to DILD

i already dreamt of being lucid in a dream the thing is it was like going from reality to a dream with no shift and then waked up by someone telling you that you have been dreaming !! that would be scary

      Hi again,
I think I did this again but it was different this time. I was in my car with my mum and at a certain point we had an accident and the car felt from a bridge to the river. While I was underwater, I could feel something going through my nose. I came up to the surface, and my mom was like:' o: what now?' and I said: 'Good thing it's only a dream', then I though of trying to get the car out of the water but I bent my knees to make the impulse to fly, after that it's all black.

So, I knew that I was dreaming, which makes it a lucid dream (?) but I don't think I had any control over it, and it didn't felt different from all the other dreams I had.
      Comment please.

It happens, just pick yourself up, be more aware of your state in the day, get a feel for the dream when you become lucid, and mantra before bed.
      Happy Dreams

Oh, so it was just a normal dream.
I've been having more vivid dreams lately. The feelings I get are much stronger.
      Thanks for the advice

If you were aware it was a lucid. Dream control is another skill altogether. Do not sell yourself short.

By definition it was a LD, but shouldn't I go like: 'oh yeah, I'm dreaming!', when I became aware?
      I don't know, It felt like a non-lucid.

Everyone in your dream is you after-all right? So if a dream character in your dream knew that you were lucid, so were you. Sounds like elements of your consciousness might be starting to become more aware. I'm excited to hear your developments.

The first week I decided to try "that lucid dreaming thing" I had the same problem. I had a long arse dream about talking to someone about lucid dreaming.
When I woke up I wanted to shoot myself in the face.

It was a couple of months later before I had a true moment of lucidity and like you, I woke straight up when I realized. Hopefully, one day, we'll look back at these early struggles and laugh, one fine day in the middle of the night perhaps.

This is because your dream recall is getting better

I would actually say that he was just dreaming about lucid dreams due to the motivation/intent to do so. If your unconscious knows your dreaming, you yourself are not aware of this. If that makes sense. Still a good step forwards though.

      Seriously, is my conscious stupid?
It's the third time that this happens and I seem to can't get lucid.
After a week of 0 dream recall, it happened again.
It was like this- I was in a local store here, and there was a to-do list while lucid, on the wall. I pinched my nose and I could breathe. So, supposedly I went lucid. I felt surprised or something, looked at the ceiling at told myself to calm down. After that, I tried to look at the door but I couldn't see it completely, and I tried to open it with mind-power. Then, everything goes black.
I'm sure I wasn't lucid. But this is different, this isn't dreaming about lucid dreaming, this is dreaming about being lucid dreaming.
      My mind is f'ed up.
