Sleep Paralysis multiple times in one night?

Last night while trying to fall asleep I had a sleep paralysis episode. I heard a distorted white noise and felt flushed in the face while not being able to move, the usual when I it happens to me. When it subsided I tried to fall asleep again, but this time I could almost feel that it was happening again, but could stop it if I opened my eyes. I let it happen anyway but after it ended I was in a dream. I was still in the dark in my bed face down, but I was incredibly weak and when I tried to turn the light on it didn't work. I would eventually wake back up from this, but it would happen at least 3 more times that night. What was happening?

Sounds like you experienced something that most of us here on DV (if not all) strive daily to achieve.

During these occurrences were you aware that you were dreaming?

I don't know about you, but this sounds like a great oppotunity to have a few WILDs.
If you woke up in the middle of the night, you quite possibly were in REM, but if you weren't that would explain the lack of control and clarity of the dream.

I would eventually wake back up from this, but it would happen at least 3 more times that night.
Why not take advantage and begin a lucid dream? Then you can sleep while having fun, otherwise instead of falling asleep try losing conciousness if you don't want to, that way you can resume sleeping without these annoying awakenings.

So it could have either a few WILDs in REM or NREM, I have a lack of experience in attempting to WILD in NREM though.

      Good luck and happy dreams

Use it to your advantage like Arch says. Great way for you to WILD if you just ignore the sensations and don't let them bother you. Good luck!
