I just PMed you, Shadow, but I thought I'd add my 2 bits. ShadowNightWing brought up a good point on how emotions can be used in a lucid dream, but some may be better than others. Anger often comes with focus and determination, but there are other ways to strengthen your resolve. I practically never have nightmares any more (though I've had my share of disturbing dreams) so I'm not 100% sure on all the techniques one could use.
However, there's one thing I've always wanted to try and I'm positive it could help. When you see something you don't like, just yell out "STOP!" or "FREEZE!" Then everything around you should stop so that you have time to sort out what to do next. You could turn and walk away, but I may suggest taking a closer look. It may be hard, but try looking at individual parts of the dream. How are people being murdered? What do the people look like? Do you know them? It's the small details that are more often the reflections of our daily lives. I don't think that these are premonition dreams. I don't doubt that such dreams exist, but I don't believe that they happen as often as people say they do.
At any rate, please feel free to send me a message if you would like to talk further and would feel more comfortable with a private conversation. I'll pray for you and I hope that we can all work together to help you.
