      Hey people of DreamViews!

Hey guys, my name is Jonathan and I am 20 years old. I am new to this concept of Lucid dreaming but I am very interesting in exploring the many possibilities of lucid dreaming that I have read throughout the forums.

The way I found out about lucid dreaming was when a friend of mine mentioned about astral projection. It sounded interesting at first, but only ended up scaring the life out of me the more I found out about it. From astral projection, I found out about lucid dreaming and I started looking up videos through youtube about it and eventually found myself on the front page of Dreamviews. Reading the guide on the front page got me hooked, and eventually led me to the forums.

Now, I've been keeping a journal in the past 2 weeks and the one thing I've noticed to be really odd is when I try to run up a hill. Regardless of how big or small it is, I feel as if I exert no energy when I try to run and even end up falling backwards when I run up a hill. Would this be considered as a dream sign?

Other than that, I've only had some odd dreams where I've turned into a snake temporarily or my friend's dad becoming Kevjumba's dad(for those who don't know, he's some youtube star).

Anyways, I guess that's about it for now. Sorry that the intro is a bit long :S but I'll be looking forward to any input you guys can give me.

      Thanks!

      Hi there my friend,
welcome to the league. I bet you'll have a fun time here. Nice to know you already got yourself a Dream Journal. Anyways, the hill thing is probably a dream sign since it appears on most of your dreams. Also, dreams tend to become strange and bizarre so don't be surprised when you turn yourself into a snake. Before I forget, have you already checked out http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-116237/ ? It's a handy guide for beginners. If you've got questions, feel free to reply back or message any of the dream guides(expert in Lucid Dreaming) in this dream guide list. Hope this helps and good luck in the field of Lucid Dreaming

Yea, anything that happens to you regularly in a dream can be considered a dream sign, and you have to continuously remind yourself that you will become lucid next time you experience this dream sign. One of my dream signs is actually quite similar to yours. I always notice that when I'm jogging or running in a dream, when I try to run I fast I tend to start floating with each stride, as if I'm running on the moon with less gravity than the earth, and I've become lucid from noticing that only once I think, which is quite wierd considering how strange it feels and how often it happens.

      Hey and welcome to dreamviews,
That certainly is a dream sign, I get similar signs to that, when I have a fist fight in my dreams it takes so much effort to get my fist to the opponent.

      to DV!

I'm sure you will have a good time here, we're like a semi-dysfunctional family!

Anyway, awesome stuff for keeping a dream journal. Do you find it is helping your recall? I know it dramatically improved my recall for me. Also that thing you think is a dream sign is probably more of a reality check which is kind of cool. Some people find that they can use gravity as a reality check by analysing the amount of effort required for walking, running, etc. or just by trying to fly straight up in the air.

      Thanks for the welcome guys

I'm not quite sure how much better I am at dream recall right now. My friend has started about a week an a half later than I have and he tells me how he's been recalling ~4 dreams per night these past few days. I'm still recalling around 2 max(usually 1 or none at all ).

And I have been looking through the Beginner's guide to Lucid Dreaming and the WILD tecnique caught my attention due to the fact that the guide says it's the best in inducing LD's. However, based on what I have read about it, the sleep paralysis and hypnagogics really scare me... some mentioning about the feeling that there is someone or something around you(that's what made me stop looking at astral projection). When one undergoes sleep paralysis, what are these hypnagogics that people are talking about?
