Hey guys, after about a month of failure and no progress, mostly due to lack of motivation, i've had a big breakthrough. I think i lucid dreamed about a 20 minutes before writing this and i wanted to share my experience and if it was a lucid dream or something i don't even know.

----------------------------------

I did nothing to try to lucid dream last night, i was actually really stressed out since i

had an essay due the next morning and i procrastinated. So i fell asleep like normal,

woke up with an enormous stomach virus from a bunch of pizza I ate. I woke around

5, get ready for a church class at 5:45, and decided not to go to see if i felt better. I

didn't feel better around 7 which i when i head off to school, so i just decided to stay

home. I lied down in bed from around 8-9 when i read Exploring the World of Lucid

Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge (I'm not sure thats how you spell it ;P) that i had just

got in the mail and i read around 50 pages of it and felt a little tired. I started

thinking about the homework i would miss and how i'd have to go after school for a

bunch of tests, but then my mind drifted to a story. I made up this story off the top

of my head and around a half hour in, it got really complex. At one point of the story,

i realized i wasn't in bed thinking about the story, i was actually in it. I started

thinking that i wanted to try to lucid dream, and then i felt the wierd experience. I

saw a bunch of lightning strikes that would happen for a split second and then for

another fraction, show the story, then back to the lights and flashes. In the story, it

looked zoomed out like not covering my field of view, like a video with the black bars

around it, but the video being way smaller. I remember hearing "Oh Gosh, Oh Gosh,

Oh Gosh" a few times and i can't recall if i was thinking/saying it in excitement, or if it

was some sounds my brain was creating. After about 3-5 seconds, I think i entered

the dream. It felt liketurning a video from 240p to 1080p on YT.The quality was super

crisp, but i only was in the dream for around a second. The first half of the second i

was trying to recollect what just happened, and the other half i saw that the dream

was blurring out. I felt half in my bed, and half in my dream. I remembered to either

spin or rub my hands, but i couldn't put my hands together before i woke up in my

bed. I couldn't remember anything about the dream other than the transition.

----------------------------------

Its amazing to feel the process of entering a lucid dream as i've read all around DV that once you feel it, you'll know it. I'm just baffled that after a month of no progress whatsoever in my DJ or anything really that this happened to me unexpectedly. I was about to lose motivation, but now i'm extremely excited.

I have a few questions and stuff:

• Was this a lucid dream?

• I'm not entirely sure how i did remember i was dreaming, there were no dream signs, i just one second was in a dream, the other i thought about lucid dreaming.

• I've tried WILD, and it hasn't been as successful. What method should i try based off what happened?

• How many times do you guys randomly think of lucid dreaming? I'm worried that it was a lucky chance that i remembered it out of the blue in my dream and it won't have that happen again.

• How do you not get excited about lucid dreaming xD. I didn't waste any time at all trying to maintain the dream as fast as i could, but it ended before i could put my hands together.

Thanks for reading, i really appreciate it and all of your comments ^_^
