      Hey,
Ive been trying to lucid dream for at least three months now. and i have had four... is it really worth it? i mean all this effort ive put in and the payback is way too low. Idk what to do.

Only 4 months? It may take years before you can do it daily, anyway the longer you go at it the easier it becomes.
I have been going at it all my life and can tell you its worth it, every single bit of time spent on getting better has paid off in the long run.

Lucid dreaming is something that takes a long time to obtain, it has a high learning curve. If you are willing to wait out that curve you will be very satisfied with yourself. If you cant get it working for yourself take a break from it maybe? I found that the time i obsessed about it 4 years ago (reading mostly) has helped me out recently when i picked lucid dreaming back up. I have the knowledge from before, and now the patience from personal growth.

Basicaly all im saying is be patient it will come i promise it is totaly worth it. I can compare nothing too it, it is an exhillerating feeling that i wish everyone would experience at least once. like all things in life patience pays off
      Good Luck!

I think four in three months is actually pretty good. What methods are you using? Do you practice every day? Do you have good recall and do you journal?

As Hukif said, it may take a long time, realistically, for you to LD nightly. But at this rate you're doing very well imo. And I agree that it is worth every day and every bit of effort.

      That's better than I did! D:

Keep at it. They do become more frequent as time goes on. You've gotten through the toughest part - having your first one. Then having the subsequent ones was a little bit easier, right? As with all skills, practice makes perfect. Without experience, you can't go to a piano and expect to create a beautiful symphony. You have to start out small and grow. As you grow, you will have more frequent and profound dreams. Practice makes perfect!

You seem stressed about it. The more stressed and disappointed you are, the harder it will be to overcome that. There is no boundary, you are a lucid dreamer.
If you think negatively about it, then the outcome will be negative, just be positive. If trying to LD is stressing you out, take a conscious break, and maybe start back, but not doing as many things to try and achieve lucidity

One thing i've learned, it's never good to make it complicated. When i first started, i made everything soooo complicated when it's not necessary, which is something i think most newbies do in the beginning
