Hello everyone, my name is Josh and I am totally new to these forums =)

TL;DR AT BOTTOM!!!

I was just wondering if I could get some feedback on the directions I am heading and any protips would be great.

Here is what I have been doing and where I am up to:


I have been researching lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis for a good week or so now. I am comparing different techniques that I find so that I have the knowledge to be able to mix and match to make something that is effective for me.

I am currently attempting WBTB WILDs and CAN-WILDs during the night (Attempted two WBTB WILDs and a total of eight CAN-WILDs.

WBTB WILDs:
I will go to bed at about 10 pm and set my WBTB WILD alarm for about 4:30 am. So far I have tried getting up in darkness and going to the bathroom then sitting down imagining my dream scenes for a good 10-15 minutes. I the lay down and start counting like 100, 99, 98, 97, 96, 95... And so far I just end up falling asleep with no luck (Maybe the counting just isn't keeping me awake enough).

CAN-WILDs:
I will go to bed with my 3 second alerts for 6:00 (Enough time for my WBTB WILDs), 6:30, and 7:00 am. I am still currently working on keeping my eyes closed when the alert goes off. So far I wake up eyes wide open (I say each night when i'm falling asleep "I will wake up, I won't open my eyes, I won't move." Still with no luck.

However my closest experience so far was just this morning after my failed CAN-WILD attempts.

I got up for a good 10 minutes and went to get a drink and talk to my father.
I hopped back into bed and started doing some breathing exercises keeping as still as possible.

After getting relaxed , for what seemed to be a good 10 minutes, I started to count down from 100 to 1 a good two times. On the third attempt I was getting very sleepy. I would often be like "72, 71, 70, 69, short blank moment... where was I at ? 60, 59, 58.

Then I was at the stage where I was seeing random images popping into my head. For example, I saw a 8 person family van drive sideways into a forklift ? I can't remember much else but it was all random like that. No sleep paralysis or anything. I kept counting down from having more and more blank moments eventually just falling asleep .
Did I miss sleep paralysis or is it after the images?

TL;DR

  • 1. I fall asleep doing WBTB WILDs.
  • 2. I can't keep my eyes closed doing CAN-WILDs yet.
  • 3. I gave a random WILD attempt when I woke up and got to (What jeff777's free falling technique calls chaos theory?) short, non-sense images popping into my head then fell asleep .
  • 4. Anchor suggestions to stay concious?
  • 5. Read my whole thread lazybum.


IMO: I am super happy to be making progress with those images going into my head.
