So I tried making a dream journal.

And I've had it for about five days.

The vividness in my dreams has increased tremendously! I can sorta control my actions now, I don't think it'll be long before I can become lucid!

Does keeping a dream journal usually increase vividness?

I haven't had much success with mine but I'm pretty new to this. Anyways I hear on average it has a great improvement on the comprehensibility of your dreams and dream recall.

I think it just helps in every aspect in general, Especially dream recall. Maybe they're increasing vividness because you're remembering them a lot better? Memories are usually a little fuzzy to begin with.

Goddamn. Just wait until you actually become aware that you're dreaming. You can make everything go into focus on spot, with zero effort. You know how you can look at a picture and have everything be in focus, while in real life you can only see the center of your vision clearly? Dreams don't have to be like that.

And you get to know the feels and the smells and the strange, strange sensation of breathing, connected to your breathing while in bed. Practice in real life, practice in your dreams. Even now, I can feel every keystroke; some keys are more worn than others. Hear the resolute murmur of my laptop fan. See the ghostly glow of this very page, reflecting off of my pale skin. . .

Oh you've got me excited now
But on topic, how can I become aware? It just seems like a completely overwhelming task, I don't know how to go around it. Besides using MILD mantras, recording my dreams and being more aware.

Be aware in everyday life. Your actions in waking life transfer over to your dreams. Remember that consistency is key, it takes a little bit (of time) to get 'being aware' into your mindset enough for it to transfer over.
