can you help a guy out?

hey there im new here and im looking for some help, i have some questions that i cant seem to get a satisfying answer to on Google. for example, When your trying to WILD what are some good methods in entering sleep paralysis? people say lay still until you cant feel your body any more but every time i try i end up laying there for an hour or so with nothing but like 40-30% paralysis or i just fall asleep. is there a detailed tutorial on a good method for entering SP in a way that will allow me to transition into a lucid dream?
Also on that note, how would you transition from SP to a lucid dream?

thanks for your time, and please feel free to leave suggestions on methods or what ever else may be helpful.

There are some tutorial here on SP and WILDing, it's a good read with tons of useful info. But let me ask you - do you get any sleep before WILD?

There is a couple of different ways to transition to a dream - the one I have best experience with is you wait for swirls behind your eyelids evolve into items and movies/dreams and then you either wait for a dream to come and envelope you or you enter the dream. I pick a spot in a dream and say 'I am there' like I mean it. Happy dreams

Here is a link to a thread I put together. It gives answers to both questions. Here is one important fact though. SP is not a total paralysis. If you felt 30% paralysed you were probably there. Think about it like this, if someone is dreaming and you poke them with a hot needle, they will be able to jump up and slap you in no time flat. SP keeps you from jerking around and trying to act out your dreams. It can always (for most people) be broken by exerting your will. If you keep trying to confirm you are in SP by attempting to move, you are constantly going to break the SP. What you need to look for is that state where you would have to focus in order to move. You get a general heavy feeling, you also generally start feeling strange. The strange will be different for everyone. Just do not try to move or you will loose it. After a lot of practice you can gently move, say to switch positions and not really break SP. You will always break SP if you try to test it by making yourself move.
I want to point out that most (all?) advanced dreamers need to try a few WILD attempts that fail before getting an awesome LD. If any one does not, then tell me. Most people have only a one in a handful of WILDs work if they have not slept yet. Even master level dreamers using WBTB have WILDs that get no further than intense hypnogogic stuff say half or more of the time. I am probably considered very advanced or master level by some members, but my success rate with WILDs that are WBTB is only about 1 in 3, so if I am dead set on having an LD, I make multiple attempts in the same night.
I also suggest that beginers look into MILD techniques. WILD is a very advance meditative art. Go ahead and keep trying it, but you will find MILD to be an effective way to bring about a DILD aand if you are really working your RC you will get lucid that way in no time.

You are welcome. I think I forgot to mention about dream recall. If you start writing your dreams in a dream journal, you will start remembering your dreams better and have better sucess with LDing. To the MILD, I would also add daytime awareness technique. Happy dreams, I know, YouCanHasLD

It's true, you will But for the lucid dreaming purposes, when saying your mantra/affirmation (I have lucid dreams), or even when just thinking about it, it's advisable not to use future tense for anything. Our mind understands that as 'anytime, just not now'. So present tense is preferred.

Excellent! Keep track of the day and write down any detail you remeber. I do not remeber now how old I was just mid-teens, or which one was really the first LD.
Get ready for it to come fast. Give any technique at least 3 weeks, the skill comes together in bursts. You may think it does not work by week 2, but your brain is having to turn on some new areas and branch out neurons.

      You should celebrate!
