      Help???

I'm not that new to LD. I've known what they are for about 1 1/2 yrs, and practiced on and off. My only LD ever was 3 days after I started getting interested in LD again. But one thing that's never made sense to me is the multiple dreams thing. I almost never remember dreams besides the one right before I wake up, and when I have (which is in the single digits), they're always fragments. Also, I sleep through the night. To anyone outside this community this would sound like a blessing, but I don't wake up multiple times a night. All the tutorials gloss over it like everyone naturally wakes up 5 times a night, and never elaborate. Does anyone else have this problem?

P.S. new to DV, didn't know where else I should post this, since again no one seems to have this problem.

      Hi jak

Well, the tuts are right, we do wake up briefly after each dream cycle, but we usually just turn to the other side without noticing it. There is couple of things you can do to wake up/notice.

      1. Write your dreams in a dream journal. Even if all you remember are few words or feelings. This will let your mind know, that dreaming and remembering them is important to you and it will help you achieve it. Keep your DJ with a flashlight where you can reach it easily.

      2. Drink water before going to bed and everytime you wake up. It will wake you to go to the restroom, most likely right after your REM/dream is over. Tha's a great chance to write in your dream journal, even if only some keywords.

      3. As you falling asleep, repeat a mantra 'I remember my dreams', or 'I remember my dreams and wake up after each dream'.

Remembering your dreams is important for lucid dreamer. I bet, your LD count will go up with your recall. Happy dreams

Thanks gab. It's hard to keep my dream journal with so little to go on, but I'll try some of the other methods and maybe this will help.

As for trying to keep a dream journal when you only remember fragments of dreams, just try to write down everything you can remember anyway, even if it's not much. Try to write down every little detail, especially your thoughts or specific sensations. Hopefully focussing on all the details will improve your dream recall, and if you keep writing things down it should snowball in no time.

      What Patrick says^^

If you don't remember anything, then write something like "I have good memory and my recall is getting better every day'. At first, your journal will serve as a tool to teach your mind that dreams and remembering them is important to you. Later, it will be a depository of your cool dreams. Happy dreams

I love this affirmation! I'm going to write it in every entry.

Thank you so much everyone! This is my first thread and I'm glad to see there are so many helpful senior members.

But the weird thing (which I forgot to mention in OP) is that I've had better recall before, it's just started slipping recently. I normally wake up at 6.30, and I hope the lack of rush because tomorrow's Saturday will help.

Recall can fluctuate, so no worries. But the morning rush can sure make it hard to remember dreams. Good time to recall is right after you wake up. Don't move, don't open your eyes. Think back at what you remember and try to piece the dream together. Some people like to wake up after each dream and write it down, instead of waiting till morning. Happy dreams

Ok, so last night I drank a glass of water before going to bed. Lights out at 10:10, which is my normal time, but I listened to music before I went to bed. And when I woke up, I wasn't confused, I remembered my dream. It wasn't as clear as I'd hoed, because I'm outof practice. But whether it comes in cycles or the music helped, I can tell its back now.

Great advice Gab! You nailed this one. I learned something new; I will try to start writing affrimations in my DJ if I don't have other things to write. Thanks.

Thanks, I wish I could claim it as my idea, but I'm sure I have read it someplace.

Thanks everyone. I think I have schedule figured out; I remembered 2 dreams, then when I didn't listen to music my recall went back to 0. Thanks!
