I'm amazed how quickly I got into this!

I recently found out about lucid dreaming through somebody on Facebook who had also just started. I read about it on the internet, and found myself quite a fan of what I was reading. So I began trying all the techniques and I was expecting it to take me weeks if not months to experience a lucid dream... Then three nights later I legitimately had my first lucid (or semi lucid) dream. I was at my grandparents house (in my dream) and went outside to hang out the washing (yes, I have remarkably interesting dreams), and at some point I realized I was dreaming! Although even after I looked at my hands, and pinched myself, and tried pushing my fingers through my hand, I was so convinced I was not dreaming, it was so vivid. I jumped straight to it and attempted to fly (although still unsure if I was dreaming, I also didn't want to embarrass myself!) I jumped into the air and fell flat on my back on the washing basket. I woke from my dream shortly after. I'm not too sure if this was because the techniques really are working or pure luck. But I can see so much potential in my future dreams, it makes me so excited! Also my dreams certainly convinced me I could feel pain. I vividly remember pinching myself and thinking it hurt.*

That's great! It seems you've got some natural talent hidden in there. For some people it can take weeks or months, but alot of people seem to get their first LD in the first week or so. Everyone's different though.

      Hi!

That's pretty amazing I gotta say, I'm pretty much in the same position as you, I only recently got into the whole lucid dreaming thing...I'm not sure how long it's going to take me, or which methods I'll be using but it's definitely encouraging to hear that it doesn't seem to be impossible!

Well done, you got one pretty quickly. I had my first semi-lucid the night I found out about it, due to thinking about it so much, which might have been what happened in your case. I'm sure you'll keep them coming though

Next time you get lucid, take around 20 seconds to stabilize the dream by using as many of your senses as possible. This will stop the dream from ending abruptly, and should help with the over-excitement issue.

Yeah the exact thing happened to me, I couldn't stop thinking about it all day and just before I went to bed. It was so confusing when it happened though. I'm too embarrassed to talk to anyone about it, even my girlfriend. Hence why I joined this site haha. But it's so awkward when I try to WILD, which I haven't been successful with so far, and I don't follow through with it because she needs attention.. I might tell her, one day haha.

Oh wow that was fast haha and welcome to the forums!
I still haven't gotten my first one yet but remembering the dreams I'm having will suffice for now. I actually get all giddy when I wake up remembering a dream I had.
