      Hello and Thank You!

Ever since I've found this site a couple weeks ago I've been on a pursuit of sorts for a technique that would work for me. Last night I had success with what I call an extreme mantra technique-mentally repeating "I'm dreaming" as many times as possible as I fell asleep. Immediatly as the dream started I thought "I'm dreaming" and had a lucid dream! The dream was so vivid that in the middle of it I thought "Am I really dreaming?"! The technique worked so well that I think I'll have continued success with it!

I'm grateful to have such a quality site for lucid dreaming here to aid me in my endeavors. I'm sure I'll have a nice stay here.

Welcome to Dream Views! If that's what works for you, then keep doing it! I still haven't found anything for me so you're lucky. A lucid dream after only a couple weeks? It took me a few months! I hope you have lots of LDs, they're fun!

Hey, congrats on the lucid! :3 and welcome to DreamViews

Btw, what did you get to do in the lucid?

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Lucky duck! lol. I've been doing similar techniques, mainly with a lot of reality checking and I started doing ADA (all day awareness) that I read on the forums. Thats very cool though!

      Thanks for the congrats!

To answer your question about what I did the dream was pretty short so I didn't get to do too much. I was at a party at my grandma's house. It was pretty random as I didn't know what the party was for and all the characters were unfamiliar. I tried to do a backflip a couple of times in the kitchen to impress the crowd. I failed both attempts and fell on my back. Didn't hurt though! I remembered to rub my hands together for stabalization. I walked outside jumped in the pool clothed. Then a random lady walks up near the edge and asks "What are you doing!?". The dream ended shortly thereafter.

I think I may have decieved people with my lucid count. I've had at least a dozen or two random lucid dreams in my lifetime but I don't know how many. This one though was my first one that was purposely induced via a technique and I wanted to start officially counting them so I might as well count this one as #1.

I started a dream journal (Shawn's Lucid Dreams) that goes into more depth my ongoing goals, improvement process and experiences with lucid dreaming. Whether or not I succeed at lucid dreaming, I think it'll be fun to try to improve this skill. It's certainly fun writing about it. Right after this post I'll add another entry in my journal talking about last night which was...erm...a learning experience. That's what this site is for though!

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome!

I understand the reasoning ... I have had dozens of lucid dreams in my life, perhaps even hundreds, but only three since I started on this forum a month and a half ago.

Maybe I should do something to find a way to show those three on my profile thing ....

I had another one this morning! I updated my dream journal with Lucid#2. If I continue to have success with my method, maybe I'll post it in the induction techniques forum. I already explained it in my dream journal.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Glad you found and joined the site. Also, congratulations on your very first lucid. It's a great feeling, isn't it? I'm sure you will get a bunch of Lucids soon after this. Good luck, and if you have any questions...just ask!
