      Success and then fails?

Hey all! I just joined a week ago, and I'm super ready to get started on my LDing!!
The first night I tried, I became aware that I was dreaming, and had a bit of dream recall when I woke
up and wrote in my Dream Journal. Since then, I just have not been able to remember my dreams!
I don't know what it is, but for this past week I just have not been able to retain my dreams
Any tips to help me get back on the path?

      Cheers mates

      Admeth

      Welcome to DV!

Sometimes my recall gets really low as well, I just keep trying. I find that I often recall dreams as I'm going to bed at night, so I guess relaxing and lying down on your bed could help?
Maybe try taking a day or two off from trying.

      Hello admeth!

I have been getting the same problems!
My first 3 days i could recall 5 dreams very very detailed.
The next 3 days i couldn't remember anything at all. (I did try some different methods in these days tho...)

I think u should evaluate all your nights,
Did u use different bed and wake up times?
Did u use a different method?
      Etc etc.

I think its best to evaluate your very first night, and do it exactly over again.
      And see what happens!

I agree with both of them ^^

It's normal for dream recall to vary, especially on your first few weeks. Remember that you're starting up a new habit that you didn't normally do before, so it may take some time for your body and mind to adjust.

Just keep trying and maintain your intention to remember. The more you intend to recall your dreams, the better you will recall them. Like Killing said, if it persists, try taking some time off.

      Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Welcome to Dream Views! This is the place to be for anyone wanting to learn how to lucid dream. There is no quick answer to your question, but the Dream guide team is here to help you navigate the forum and answer questions. We all have 3 green stars above our avatar. Click on our user name and you can then select private message if you have a question, or you can start new threads. Don't worry about starting threads that have been started before, just try it out, if it ends up in the wrong place one of us can move it for you.

One thing you can do in a post is place a link to another thread. I have done this below. You can click on the colored words to see the new thread. Start with this extra basic one, it will help you read the acronyms in other posts, Help With Acronyms For Complete Beginners

After that one the very first thing you should do is check out basic tutorials. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using in much more depth, so start here, http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/

Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy.

Matte , our Dream Guide team leader runs a general lucid dreaming class, and you can join in contests where you gain points for dreams you have. General Lucid Dreaming (Matte87)

Gab , another Dream Guide runs a class that is very valuable to beginners on MILD/DILD, which is by far the best method to start with. DILD (Hukif and gab)

Finally as far as the DVA stuff goes, there is a class on introduction to lucid dreaming. This is a great place if you are just starting out and need a little personal help. Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, RareCola, CanisLucidus, Chimpertainment, Xanous)

Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly! Here is a thread where people explain how they went about learning to fly, http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/can-u-...u-learn-40468/

Then just for a laugh here is a thread where people list all the things they want to do in an LD. It is mostly light hearted and supposed to be funny, http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/1000-t...-dream-104556/

Have fun and good luck with your dreaming!
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

      Hello Admeth,

Welcome to the site! I m also new (only 2 months) and got that same issue in the beginning I went from 2 to3 dreams a night to recall nothing in 7 days straight I thought this is it i m finished LOL but some days after it just got back.

So I would say dont become too stressed with it, stress and wanting it too much will do the opposite I think..just relax and let them coming back, they will!

      Good luck!

There are many factors that can cause this. It doesn't have to be connected to the fact that you had a lucid dream, in fact it's not very likely to have anything to do with that at all.

Just think back, what did you change? Did you go to bed later than usual? Where you out patying (drinking)? Where you stressed about something? - school, work, lucid dreaming?

Sometimes you really do remember your dreams, it's just that you forget them the moment you wake up in that case all you have to do is to practise your short-term memory:

      http://www.dreamviews.com/f15/if-you...ams-try-93005/

It's not 100% guaranteed to make you remember your dreams, although it's 100% guaranteed to help you increase your recall.
