      Smile Helloo, I'm new here.

About an hour ago, I remembered a little detail I forgot while thinking of last night's dream upon waking up. A DC asked for my phone number in a dream, and I automatically spewed it out. I've never dealt with any sort of numbers in my dreams so I thought this was especially interesting and decided to Google it. & so I ended up here! After reading through some interesting threads about lucid dreaming, I decided to join. I've never been a part of something like this but I find dreams very interesting and I'm very interested in learning how to lucid dream on a regular basis and just reading about other's dreams.
I've only ever been lucid once, and it was towards the end. I was with my boyfriend and we were running from something, on a rooftop. That's as far to the beginning of the dream that I can remember. We came to the end of one rooftop and jumped and started flying over the next one, and all of a sudden I felt as if we were going to be pulled backwards, and that's exactly what happened. Except it was only me that was pulled backwards and then I started being pulled to the sky and I didn't freak out or anything. I was just looking at the sky and just.. admiring it all. As weird as being sucked into the sky was, it was pretty awesome and the point of view I had, with the entire sky and all of the clouds just coming at me - or rather, me coming at them - was beautiful. & right when I had that revelation, of how beautiful it all was - I became lucid and instantly knew I was dreaming and had a sort of astonished "wow" moment.
Then I woke up a couple of seconds later and sat straight up in bed an was out of breath and my boyfriend woke up and looked at me like I was insane, so I caught my breath and repeated everything I could remember to him and then my brother knocked on my door and asked me what time it was and I looked at the clock and it read 8pm.. which made me go because I had drank a bit too much..of too many things the night before and had gotten sick upon waking up the next morning and once I returned home, I went back to bed (which is when this dream happened) and then after looking at the clock and being shocked at the time, I woke up again. For real this time. Strangest dream(s) I've ever had. I'll never forget it. But I also haven't lucid dreamed since, so I definitely want to work on some things to possibly help me realize I'm in a dream while dreaming.
I hope to talk with a bunch of you in the future, and share dreams and thoughts :p If anyone has any tips that they think may work for me, feel free to share! (I've been reading through the beginner's guide) (:

Well welcome to the site as for tips I'd say one of the most crucial things starting off, in my opinion, is to keep a dream journal that you write in every morning, and the entries might be short at first, but they'll build up over time. Other than that I'd say just taking some time in the morning to just lay there and recall your dreams would be beneficial and also having a normalized sleep-wake schedule couldn't hurt.

I always think it's amazing when someone has a spontaneous lucid dream like that. Complete with a typical false awakening.

I suggest checking out the DV Academy Forum and getting into one of the classes, especially the intro class. You'll find loads of accurate information there. Also feel free to PM one of us and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

I really need to get in the habit of keeping up a dream journal. I usually only write down the ones I can strongly remember. Thanks for the tips! (:
