A place where I can talk about lucid dreams :D

      Hello,
Since I don't know anyone I know who experience lucid dreaming and talks about it like I do, I searched for a forum to share my experiences to people who have lucid dreams too and found this

First, I had my first lucid dream when I was about 11 years old, (now 24), and after that, I have been experiencing it since then. Sometimes frequently like many times a month and after that, it will be gone for months or sometimes years when I'm busy with other things such as school. I really like dreaming where I can see and sometimes feel things which is non-existent such as flying. After I woke up in my earlier years, I stay still for a while just to remember what I dreamt and I think that's how I think I taught myself to be lucid.

In my high school years, I've had lots of LD until reality hits my face at the start of college and beyond where I started to worry about my future and my LD occurences decreased, like no LD for about 2 years and rarely. And until this year where it's frequent again, (experiencing it for 3 days in a row or sometimes several a month).. I just learned that lucid dreaming has many practices to attain like WILD or MILD last year and that sleep paralysis is perfectly normal. When I still don't know it, I've had many sleep paralysis back then and I try to wake up when I experience that because I'm afraid that I'll die on that but now when I understand what it really does, I just let it and voila, instant lucid dream.

Now that I'm fully aware of this cool phenomena, I have been lucid dreaming like its normal to me and when I'm not busy in real life, however, I can't really control it yet. I always wake up when I feel excited and I sometimes can't control my dreams that's why I'm searching the net on how to improve this skill..

I'll try to share my experiences and thoughts from time to time for additional information on this forum so again, hello

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Yes, not having anybody to talk to in waking life about lucid dreaming is pretty common. I think most of us have the same problem. But this is a great place to discuss everything dreaming and especially lucid dreaming related.

We have a section Dream Control, which deals in having control in LDs. Make yourself comfortable and have fun

A fairly good introduction to the subject is Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming, by Stephen LaBerge.
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

Yeah, excitement is a powerful dream killer. The best bet is to try and have a sort of tranquil excitement, if that makes sense.

yeah, i'm going to try to improve my lucid dreaming skills this time. I've been lucid dreaming since I was a kid but I've never really tried practicing it and i'm going to now. And my goal right now is to find my dream guide. Thanks a lot

Welcome and best of luck to you. Having others to talk to about this is a lot of help. I'm in a similar boat as you, not having many people in my immediate circles who are lucid dreamers. They hear about the things I can do, and look at me like I'm talking about witchcraft.
