      Late introduction

      Hey thar..

So this is a late introduction, I thought why not..I don't think I have posted on the forum yet.

I found DV through googling something. I recalled 8 dreams from a night and thought that was really strange, and it led me here. Since I joined DV I have kept a personal Dream Journal at hand at any times. I have not had any LD's at all for the past few years and I can't recall the first one I had. I have probably had about 3-4 LD's in total.
I like to fail miserably at WILDing because it feels funny. I get too curious about it and let my heart race, and I cannot sleep if I can hear or feel my heart. Yes, it's very weird.
I'm trying to DEILD but that goes miserably wrong too. About the only thing benefitial to me at the moment is recalling my dreams pretty okay.

Some stuff I like to do is play videogames, run, workout and hang out with friends. I also like movies. I like horror movies and especially sci-fi movies. I pretty much listen to anything when it comes down to music.

So hai der....btw I hang out on the IRC a lot. I often get out of topic in #LucidDreaming when I let my mind run freely.

      Toodles!

Well even if you're not technically/immediately new, welcome to the Dream View forums! If you ever decide to make another thread then please, feel free to do so.

Have you tried the DILD method? I don't know anything about DEILD so for all I know it could practically be the same dang thing, but if WILD is too distracting for you then it's not going to work. DILDs, statistically speaking, have a much higher success rate for beginners than any of the other techniques.

Again, welcome to DV! Good luck!

I just had an idea. Haven't tried it myself yet, but you know how important expectations are to success with LD. What if for an entire day we make belief to ourselves that we are already very good at LDing. Do you think it will work? Are you good at make belief, Deatlev?

Btw, I logged into chat briefly today, but I left without saying anything because I did not know what to say to not sound like a fool, so I remained quiet there. The only other time I tried it, I think I attempted to write novels in slowmotion in DV chat, and I had a feeling that wasn't the right approach.

      Anyway welcome to DV forum!

      Thank ya

Dunno what DILD means, suppose it's something like DEILD only without the E...Sorry I am terrible at abbrevations, I should have mentioned in the first post. Abbrevations don't like to stick in my head, that's why I'm having such a rough time when people widely use these in the irc chat for instance, I have to either ask or find the dictionary for all the abbrevations somewhere on this forum. But I suppose that if DILD is good for beginners I might give it a try.

I had such huge expectations yesterday and I were really motivated but then I wake up today disappointed..why?

      No
      Lucid
      Dreams

Let's call this NLD, when you DON'T have LD's

I created a very strong belief in that I would become lucid, but mind thought otherwise tonight...at least I remembered 4 dreams, but I have yet to bother to write down the smallest details such as what surrounds me and where I am, I simply describe what I am doing not anything around it..
I think if you prepare for an entire day....well firstly I don't think you will, there's so many other things that come to mind on a day and you will probably have forgot about it until you are to sleep again Dx

Deatlev. I swear I will make you remember these acronyms!

WILD: anytime you go straight from waking to sleeping. Pretty WILD if you ask me.

DILD: anytime that you become lucid through the course of the dream.

Everything else is just a way to attain these two!

      @ Joanna.
Thinking that you are the best is a great way to go about things. I have thought that with a past of dream related things, I should be able to be amazing at LDing. I don't know how much my past actually helped me, but I translated it over to a few different things "because I am getting 8 hours of sleep I will LD" "because I spent this much time on DV" "read ETWOLD" or my personal favorite that I use "because I saw the moon today, I will lucid tonight. " anything that you can convince yourself of should work in increasing % chance of an LD.
