I don't know what I am or how to control it.

Hi, little introduction first. I'm Kylan and I'm a 14 year old girl in the USA.

I guess I've had somewhat lucid dreaming for a long time, but never really payed much attention to it. While I'm falling asleep, I see and hear weird things that aren't actually there, sometimes I even hear music. While sleeping, for as a long as I can remember, this is the weird thing.

I can sometimes tell whether I'm in a dream or not, but I've always been able to wake myself from a dream I didn't like or change it to something else. For example, if I'm having a nightmare or I am aware of the fact that something bad is about to happen (another weird thing), I can simply blink hard and open my eyes to wake up. Sometimes, however, I have to do this multiple times, especially if I'm trying to change it into another dream.

I've had flying dreams for a LONG time. It's amazing! I know how to get in the air, how to fly, how to soar, and even how to change speed and lower back to the ground. I'm smiling at the moment just thinking about it. I usually jump off the ground at an angle to get into it... I don't ever remember failing an attempt at it. While in the air, I'm typically slowly moving up, but I don't know how to explain the way I move. I just think where I want to fly, and I fly there. I sort of contract my muscles and push my body by will in order to speed up, and the opposite to slow down. I often am being chased by someone or something while flying, and this actually was what happened last night while I was dreaming.

I was being chased by someone, I don't remember who or why. I flung myself into the air and glided around as fast as I could, but the person was also very fast. I think I almost got caught and I was freaking out, and then the dream changed. I was in a sort of obstacle course/fairground, but where I stood involved a ramp going underground (where I did not end up going, just standing over) and people were blasting loud music. It was almost a show; I remember the principal of my school coming by and asking them to turn that inappropriate music off, but they turned it up louder to show it was club music instead. There was different events at certain climaxes in the music... One time, when the bass was pumping, I remember shallow water flowed up and down the ramp, and I couldn't help but think how the people were not drowning due to the angle of the ramp. A lot of other stuff happened that I cannot explain... At the end I was buying candy. Sometime in the middle of the dream, it was dark outside and I was walking by what seemed to be an L-shaped electrical circuit thing, and there were two stray cats, one grey and one black and white. The grey one was a kitten. I sat down with them to comfort them and slept there until the dream changed.

Anyway, I saw some people who I knew and some I haven't seen before during my dream. Towards the end of it, there was someone who was important to me, a girl. I do not recall seeing her physical form, only sensing her appearance, and I could tell she was there the entire time but did not realize it until the end. I looked down at a paper in my hands and saw the word written "madicraison". Often in my dreams, I try to get people's names and I try to take pictures on my phone, hoping to the end of the earth that they'll be there when I wake up or that I'll find the person. I feel like the people in my dreams are not DC's, but actually other dreamers. I always want to get in touch with them but have never succeeded.

I spent my morning looking up "madicraison" and other variant forms that could possibly have been this. I have again not succeeded and I am very disappointed. I feel as if another dreamer and I had a shared dream, but we are inexperienced in the area of recognizing it and she was trying to get me to contact her, but I failed. This sort of thing has happened before.

As the title of this thread says, I don't know what I am or how to control it. I don't know if I'm supposed to be someone who holds a dream share or someone who accidentally ends up dream sharing with people over and over again. I want to know how I can become better at recognizing the difference between a DC and another dreamer, and how I can find who they are or if they've actually been the same person/people who have been dream sharing with me my entire life, if that makes sense.

If this was you in my dream, please tell me. I feel like someone has been trying to contact me for a long time. And anyone who is more experienced than I am at this sort of thing, please help me!

Also, I would be open to any expert dreamers visiting my dreams. I don't know if I have a dream guide; I've never noticed it before. Thank you!

Oh!!! I don't know if this is important to my dreaming techniques but:
One time recently I dreamt I was at my neighbors house at night and nobody else was home, there was some evil dog barking in the distance and it was getting closer so I was trying to figure out how to get away.
Idk why I didn't go to my house, I don't think I lived there in the dream...
Anyway I went to the street and saw a dog-cat thing and I concluded it was my neighbor's and I went to the back of the house, I saw a really broken down car and... Well, let me say that in any of my dreams, I can say "this or that will be here, when I walk around that corner" that sort of thing.
So I willed for the keys to be laying perfectly in the middle of a rock and I grabbed em and turned the car on, there were no seats inside the car and no brakes/gas pedals so I just willed for the car to move and I drove away right as my family pulled into the driveway in their car.
And that was the dream. I guess I can direct my dreams to go however I want, but I don't use the power or even think to use it unless I'm in a threatening situation. Sometimes it'll be a good dream and I'll think "what if a monster was there when I walked in the door?" I don't think it on purpose, really, it just is a random thought and then it happens. I need to be better at controlling this too.

Welcome to DV, Kylan! While I do not have may answers for you regarding the dream sharing. However, what I can tell from what you wrote is that you are a talented natural lucid dreamer. Congratulations! I hope you enjoy the forum.

For shared dreaming the section of the forum to post in is either Beyond Dreaming or there is a more specialized user forum http://www.dreamviews.com/internatio...aming-project/.

Most of Dream Views is focused on lucid dreaming, and I hope you will find topics of interest in many parts of the forum.

Welcome to Dream Views! This is the place to be for anyone wanting to learn how to lucid dream. The Dream Guide team is here to help you navigate the forum and answer questions. They all have 3 green stars above their avatar. Click on our user name and you can then select private message if you have a question, or you can start new threads. Don't worry about starting threads that have been started before, just try it out, if it ends up in the wrong place one of us can move it for you.

One thing you can do in a post is place a link to another thread. I have done this below. You can click on the colored words to see the new thread. Start with this extra basic one, it will help you read the acronyms in other posts, Help With Acronyms For Complete Beginners

After that one the very first thing you should do is check out basic tutorials. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using in much more depth, so start here, The Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming

The next thing I suggest you do is to check out the tutorials on specific techniques that the staff have written here, Induction Methods and Techniques. All of these tutorials are written in a very stream lined fashion, and contain just the basic fundamental steps you will need to get started.

Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy. Lots of classes are offered on a range of topics. If you are new to LDing then join the intro class, Intro Class. In that class you start your own work book in which you can ask for help on any part of the LDing process you don't understand or are having trouble getting. A whole group of helpful people will read your questions and offer their help.

I hope to save you some time by giving you a link to a thread we all put together on the topic Sleep Paralysis. There has been so much misinformation and confusion on this topic, that after a few days on the sight, you would surely run into confusing statements refering to SP. Save yourself some frustration and read this post if you want to know about SP, Sleep Paralysis Explained

Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly! Here is a thread where people explain how they went about learning to fly, Can U Fly/ How Did You Learn?

Then just for a laugh here is a thread where people list all the things they want to do in an LD. It is mostly light hearted and supposed to be funny, 1000 things to do in a lucid dream!!!

Have fun and good luck with your dreaming!
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.
