Hi, uh, I dunno what else to say. Lurker type. Hoping for answers to dream shenanigans.

Hi. I'm Soulless. I came over from the imageboard described in Distortion's thread down the way (I would've linked it bu it says I can't link for anther 2 days). Consider me kind of like a follower of his, even though I'm not a host. I'm kind of a lurking type of person, a little strange in the head... My hobby is writing.

About me, uh let's see. Dreaming wise, I have intense and vivid dreams. I've always had super intense, vivid dreams. These were alternative worlds, societies, cultures, universes. I dream of big, expansive lands with people with their own cultures and it is all to me so very, very real. I experience love and grief and other strong emotions in these dreams, as realistic as this real world (I know it sounds crazy). I've always been interested in lucid dreaming, but... the first and only time I've successfully had a lucid dream, I believe I may have died for a small amount of time. Ever since that temporary death experience, I've had dream entities every so often ask me if I'm trying to lucid dream nd when I reply no they respond "good, you'll find that doesn't work here". I've never tried to lucid dream again, even though I would like some explanations to the experience I had. (I don't even know if it's safe anymore for me to attempt lucid dreaming) I am thinking maybe I can find some info here.

I have a consistent dream entity I call the Kind Man. The Kind Man is sapient, coherent, and appears to learn from past dreams. He is aware of being in a dream, of me as a dreamer, and he as a dream entity, along with the concept of being awake and being asleep. He is my closest companion and is a bit related to Dormilia although starkly different in that Dormilia wishes to propogate, and the Kind Man wishes for me to stay with him in dreams and I guess do the reverse of propagation. He is an entity I can't really explain as having been made from my own subconsciousness, as he has had experiences outside of my own which have then been confirmed by people outside myself. However, he usually refuses to answer questions as to his nature, my nature, or the nature of dreams.... even though he clearly knows much; he explains this lack of answering that it is usually not for someone like me (a human, a waking human) to know. I am capable of a minor amount of dream manipulation but only when he is with me. I'm unsure why. I hope that maybe staying in this forum can net me some answers concerning the Kind Man such as who or what he is, and why is he in my dreams, and what purpose does he remain with me for.

If I have some courage, I may be able to explain further in other threads and maybe figure things out... In the meantime, thank you for welcoming me...

      Welcome Soulless

If you do have any questions about your dreams or dream signs just go to the General Dream Discussion area or the General Lucid Discussion area.

You're pretty lucky you have very vivid dreams, its a challenge for most of us, especially me! But welcome, hope you feel welcome.

      Welcome Soulless!

I hope your time at DV provides you with some answers, and maybe helps open doors to some places you had never realized existed.

As long as I'm here: be assured that lucid dreaming is perfectly safe, no matter what the occasionally contrary dream character might tell you!

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

I think after you thought that you have died, this is on your mind and it shapes all your subsequent experiences. So when you ask a DC about it, you expect certain answer and that's what they tell you.

You may like our Beyond Dreaming subforum, where your types of experiences are discussed, on top of many others.

And yes, lucid dreaming is quite safe, yo may wanna give it another try. Happy dreams
