New here...always been a lucid dreamer.

So maybe I am lucky but ever since I was a kid I taught myself how to do this. It started with bad dreams (I lived In a haunted house) and to wake up I made myself shake my head in my dream and it would wake me up. My dad would tell my bedtime stories about flying and then in my dreams I taught myself to fly whenever I wanted. I could make myself prettier if I wanted because I never thought much of my looks...I could cast spells on people, use magic, make things appear, people appear, go wherever I wanted. These dreams haven't happened in a while I can never seem to get lucid anymore. I have had anxiety the past few years and take medications and this may be the cause. I hope to be lucid again because I had it down perfectly for so long, almost every single night. It is a truly amazing feeling.

And I have to say that after reading some posts I don't know how I become lucid in my dreams I just do. It became so second nature to me at one point. I could even fly to the stars. The highest feeling you will ever know. I hope everyone gets the chance to feel this control some time in their life it is truly amazing.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Sorry to hear that you don't seem to get lucid any more. I have heard that from a few members. That they could lucid dream as kids, but as they are growing up, the ability is slowly disappearing.

No worries, you can still lucid dream. Only now you will have to put some effort into it. It's not hard at all, as you will see in our tutorials. Check them out and ask your questions.

Btw, the dreams you were having, are called DILD - dream induced LD. When in a regular dream you suddenly realize you are dreaming. Happy dreams

      Welcome Djd1989!

As gab says, you will be able to lucid dream again if you stay here and learn the techniques that used to come naturally to you. I would say you have an advantage over someone starting from scratch. Once you get lucid, you will already have dream control because you know what is possible.

Apart from the links that gab posted, I would recommend that you sign up for the intro class. It's a great way of keeping you on track and getting advice tailored to you.

Thank you both so much I will definitely do this I miss being able to do it. Literally going from almost every night to a few times a year sucks. I always talk about lucid dreaming with my coworkers and they can't believe me.

Thank you everyone. I had my first lucid dream in forever last night maybe because I joined? I was able to fly. I tried to make someone else fly but it barely worked so I'm a little rusty.
