      Hello from Holland!

      Hi!

I am new to this forum, I am Sef from The Netherlands and I am currently 14 years old. I know that's quite young, but I am very interested in LD. I have never had a LD before, I have tried a few times. I tried writing a Dream Journal, but I can't seem to remember my dreams often. That was 1½ years ago, and the thought about it kinda drifted away..

I recently read about LD, and I wanted to try it again. I saw this other method, where you lift your index and middle finger and it didn't require you to keep up a journal, so I wanted to try it again. I just did some research again, I found a couple of YouTube video's about Lucid Dreaming and one of them brought me to this site, his YouTube channel is called 'GizEdwards'.

I don't really have a reason for wanting a Lucid Dream, it's just that once I read about it I thought it would be really cool to have one. I hope I can learn more about Lucid Dreaming on this website, I have been lurking around and already expanded my knowledge for a bit. And of course, hopefully I can get a Lucid Dream in the future.

      Thanks!

Welcome Sef, nice to meet you

Is always a good idea keeping a dream journal, the more you write down the more you increase your Dream Recall and more dreams you will remember. There are some techniques that doesn't "require" keeping a dream journal, give WILD (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream) a look. I think you are referring to FILD, I can't say much about it because I don't have any experience with this technique. But I suggest that you try keeping a Dream Journal, you don't have to write every single dream you have, you can write just the cool ones (and of course the lucid ones), just remember that the more dreams you write down the more dreams and more details from your lucid dreams you will remember. And don't focus on just one technique, try the most you can and find what works best for you. You don't have to stick with just one technique. At least try DILD, MILD and WILD.

      Good luck having lucid dreams

Hi yoga, welcome to DreamViews! Nice avatar!

That technique sounds like FILD to me.

LIke GuitarShot100 said, you will have much better dream recall If you start dream journaling. Dream journaling will help on your way to lucidity but it's also good for remembering your regular dreams. When you wake up make sure to lie still for a minute while you try to recall your dreams, you might think you only remember a fragment or nothing but more and more will come back to you as you're lying there replaying the dream in your head. Also if you wake up during the night, jot down any notes and keywords about the dream that will help you recall it later.

The coolness of lucid dreaming is reason enough
