      Hello from Germany

      Hey everybody,

I already know about the existence of lucid dreams for a few years, but I never really paid attention to it. It's time to change that, because it's a very interesting topic for me and I really want to find out how it feels to have lucid dreams.

Hence I started doing reality checks today (nose, fingers and palm).
I will also start my dream journal tomorrow in the morning.

As a new member, I have some questions to the experts

      1) What happens if I die in a lucid dream? Do I just wake up?
      2) Sometimes I don't remember a single dream in a whole week. Does it mean it will be even harder for me to have a lucid dream?
      3) Are there any correlations between the amount/quality of lucid dreams and factors like blood pressure? I tend to have high bp.
      4) Can I change my method within one night as a beginner? For example, when I fail a WILD, I can try a DILD. Maybe it's too much effort for a beginner and my inner system is just overstrained, I don't know.

I think I have more questions than that, but I seem to be too tired to think properly. It's 03:15 here.
      Gn ppl

      1. It depends. You might wake up or you the dream may continue with something that happens. The thing "if you die in a dream you actually die" is a myth.

      2. No. Dream journaling will help you improve your recall. If you don't have a consistent sleep schedule or you don't sleep enough at night, you may not remember your dreams. One thing that might help with remembering your dreams is Wake Back To Bed (WBTB).

      3. Sorry I can't help you on that one

      4. Yes you can. I suggest practicing stuff that will help you DILD every day. You can have a DILD any time you are dreaming. If you try to WILD, and you end up falling asleep you'll probably end up in a dream where you might DILD.

      Thanks for answering

I had a weird night. Either I had a lucid dream in my first night trying, or I just dreamed that I have a lucid dream. I did a RC and I had 6 fingers. At first I didn't even see the difference, then I paid more attention to my fingers and I suddenly saw it.
So what did I do in my dream? I've been in a small town that I've never seen before. I had walked a little bit and then I took a guy's bike and drove away. After it the dream was over, a pity. In addition, my dream was in a raster. I felt like I'm the main character of a video game.

Is it possible to dream that you are just lucid dreaming? I guess I should have done a few more RCs while dreaming...
I'm a bit confused because I only made about ten RCs yesterday (while being awake) and my brain already converts it to my sleep? It's strange

I've never heard anything about dream loss from high blood pressure. You should be gone

One thing to add: Dragonmaster is right about recall, and that it will improve with dream journaling and setting intentions before bed.

If you neglect recall, however, it will affect your success with lucid dreaming.

We call these semi-lucids, and if you are questioning your lucidity, then that is probably what you had. And you'd be surprised how fast your dreaming mind picks up and integrates info; you've probably been thinking about lucid dreaming a lot, which helps

      Okay guys!
I'll try to update my DJ every day.

      Yes, semi-lucid sounds good.

I have in plans to buy "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" written by Stephen Laberge on Monday. As I heard, it is still the best lecture for LD beginners, yep?

EWOLD was my bible for the first few months of practice. There are many books out there, though. I would check out Are You Dreaming? by David Love (excellent book to use together with EWOLD) and would also recommend signing up for one of the courses here at DV--maybe either beginner course or DILD course? Good luck to you
