Hi there and welcome to DVs!

You have found the right place, there is a lot of valuable information here.

Check out the Attaining Lucidity thread, as there are techniques as well as many people sharing their own experiences. But to get you started I want to advice you to first of all, get a dream journal and start working on your dream recall, this is crucial. Second, I would advice you to perform reality checks through the day and every time you have a chance, visualize yourself turning lucid. Try to feel excited and anticipated as those feelings will really push your subconscious to trigger a lucid dream! This alone will do wonders for you

Percy has some good tips. My advice is to dedicate yourself. Lucid dreaming is a skill - you have to practice; you won't become good at, say, playing an instrument if you don't do your research and spend little time refining your skill (it can take months to refine any LD technique. You may have to work out how to relax if you want to WILD, or your own way to successfully remember to do reality checks [MILD]). MILD is definitely a good starting point. I'd also read on self-awareness. If you'd like you can also read about WILD and DEILD the latter can be used to dream chain!
