      Cheers dreamers :D

      Cheerio dream(st)ers!

My name is Bartek, am 19 years old and although i have had some lucid dreams, i am definitely a beginner here. I have been lurking on this
awesome site for some time now, as well as some subredits (although you guys have by far the best content ;)). And while my dreamrecall is not really good (I found myself oftentimes too lazy in the morning to write) I have read about Lucid Dreaming alot, and have all intentions to better myself and start writing again. I hope to be able to contribute too in the near future, maybe with some kickass dreamstories :D. Anyway, nice to meet y'all here, I am off to bed (perhaps I will become lucid, will report if so:P) so G'night!

      to Dreamviews!

To fix your dream recall, often time it's enough to think that you want to remember them when you wake up. It works as a mantra, or a suggestion to you mind, tellling it what you want.

If you don't have much time, just write a few keywords that will remind you of your dream later when you can write it all down.

And thank you for your compliment about our forum. It's members, like yourself, that made us into what we are now. A peacefull and tolerant place to discuss all things related to dreams... and beyond. It's members posts that give us content that will help those coming after us. So thank you for being here and thank you all current and past members.

Ah, thanks for the tip! It's okay now, started a dreamjournal monday and already see the results; one lucid 'dream' (was lucid a couple of seconds and then woke up) and have written a page both nights, so it's definitely the perseverence i was lacking earlier holding me back :D. But everything helps, so i'll try using the mantra in my meditation right before sleep. And the compliment is completely deserved mate, i reckon you're one of the gents keeping this site running? If so, grande work and keep it up! Now that i'm back to lucid dreaming i'll start posting soon enough, so you just gained an active member:D.

I have a question though...apart from the various techniques and lessons you guys offer here (have read most of them) what else should I be checking out?

      Welcome to the forum Barteak!

DV has a ton of resources besides just tutorials and lessons, including online dream journals in which you can share your dreams with others/better organize them, tons of active members constantly posting new and interesting threads, and even what we call the DV Academy. It's a section of the forum where various senior members run classes on various topics and other members can enroll in. It's really easy to get started if you're interested, just check out which course interests you.

Also, we have monthly and yearly lucid tasks which are little challenges to help keep you motivated and give you ideas for things to do in your lucids. Upon completion you receive a special name color and your "wings" which are literal wings that show below your username. You can find that here: Tasks of the Month & YearThere are also several episodes of a podcast done by some experienced dreamers a while back. I don't believe it's still ongoing but it's definitely worth checking it out here: DreamViews Podcast

Outside the forum you could check out some various lucid dreaming books, the gold standard of which is Stephen LaBerge's Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming. It's basically a guidebook to lucid dreams and an excellent introduction to this wonderful phenomenon.

Awh thanks for the heartwarming welcome you all! And Burke, thanks for the help :). In fact, i've just ordered Laberge's books (read the free pdf but like paper better), he's real good stuff for sure;seems
to be one of the few academics out there studying lucid dreaming. I'll be checking out the site now, peace!
