      Hi,

The key role in your problem might be expectation perhaps?
You need to belive and be confident that reality check will prove that your dreaming
Whenever your planning to do reality check be sure that it will prove that your dreaming. Be confident and be sure that your finger will fly through your hand...
And even if you know that your not dreaming try to belive that you might be actually dreaming and in result do legit as heck reality check...

I would get some RCs that have a better chance at failing in a dream, such as nose-pinching and reading a digital watch twice. But as MisakaMikoto mentioned (or rather intimated, I suppose), any RC can fail in a dream. Awareness (as well as skepticism concerning the "success" of an RC) is essential.

I would say try two or three different RCs every time, and if all give positives, try them again, especially if you really suspect you might be dreaming.

RC always work fine to me, and yet, one of my last times I turned lucid from RC, I did the hand check one and I got two false positives, but something (can't remember, its somewhere in my DJ) was so nonsense that I knew I was dreaming and after the third try, my hands looked weird... so just try the same one 2-3 times in a row and/or switch around.
Click the door... and welcome to my dream world!

That's sort of what I experience on occasion, interestingly enough. I only use two RCs regularly (watch checking and flying/hovering) which are very reliable, for me. On the rare occasions they try to convince me I'm not dreaming, it's almost as if I somehow already know better on a low level and simply keep doing them until they work—I'm almost never fooled. As others have said, this is probably a matter of expectations and skepticism—I've apparently gotten pretty good over the years of being skeptical of my own thoughts and trusting the results of my RCs when they indicate a dream, even when this surprises me. Maybe this is also because I've conditioned myself to believing these RCs are reliable since they have been, and maybe that further reinforces their reliability, or something like that. Just my random thought of the day.

Of course, starting out can be tricky since one doesn't yet have these experiences to bootstrap the process. Everyone's advice in this thread sounds good. Also, I would probably just try many different types of RCs and try to find which ones work more often than others. Which RCs are best seem to vary by person. Digital watch checking was one of the first ones I tried that was reliable for me (it was a long time before I became able to fly/float consistently at will), so I just stuck with it because it worked.

I am gonna try the watch RC too.
Do you always wear the watch in your dreams? Or if it's not there is that also a RC for you?
I've been looking for watches which have digital and analog time, so when I do the RC, I check both digital and analog which could never be correct in the dream I think.
What are your thoughts on this?

I always wear my watch in real life, so it's always there in my dreams. I don't recall any dreams off the top of my head where my watch was actually missing, though I've had dreams where I became lucid when I realized my watch was not the one I wear in real life. My method is checking the watch several times in a row and comparing the times; if it jumps forward/backward more than a second or two, displays a nonsense time like 12:69, or exhibits other strange behavior, I know I'm dreaming.

Comparing analog vs. digital is an interesting idea that I've never tried. I'd say go for it and see how it works out for you.

I ordered a cheap analog watch with the LED digital function.
So when I check the time, say it's a quarter past seven on my analog clock, when I push the button so LEDs show up, it must say 7:15 or 19:15, every other number I will be dreaming.

      Yeah,

      That's good strategy
For better effects you can check hour. Remember that it's let's say (14:30) and before taking second look at watch tell yourself with confidence that it shuold say that it's 21:70 perhaps?) and then take a look
