Insomniac wanting to learn to LD!

      Hi all,

I am subscribing to this forum because first, I'd like to learn to LD and second, because the methods to LD are very good for my insomnia

I am now writing down my worries before I go to sleep -> then I stop thinking about it. It helps me sleep a lot better.

I can recall many dreams, so it seems I am on the right track for LD.
To get into LD, I am using the methods of DILD and MILD. I can't use methods that require to wake up at night (would take too much time to go back to sleep) or nap during daytime as I am not able to do that.

I've wrote down my dreams since Jan 2nd! I was not doing this prior to reading on this forum.

I will keep practicing, and one day I'll have a Livid dream, I am sure

Hi Star99. Lucid dreaming practice is all about discovering how we *sleep* and dream.

One of the most valuable skills to learn in lucid dreaming practice is mental and physical relaxation, concentration, and yes, the ability to fall asleep again after waking up during the night.

Don't sell yourself short -- I believe anybody can learn to fall asleep in the middle of the night. This is coming from one (me) who has had his own share of loooong sleepless nights, and fought a hard battle over learning how to fall asleep again. It's still not always easy, it takes discipline and determination, but it is an area that can be significantly improved with practice, patience, and dedication.

      Welcome Star99!

I am quite of an insomniac myself, and interestingly find some wild guides as well as the ssild technique quite helpful for falling asleep. Any tech that involves relaxation and quieting down the thoughts works like a charm for me. And as a bonus one might get some lds too.

If you are interested you can read more about the ssild technique below. You can do it even at bed time or if you wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall asleep or just want to have an ld.

      Have a great time!
