Hey Ketnan, welcome to the forum!
This is a topic I've seen discussed a lot on DreamViews - you can probably find quite a few old threads if you search for the term "morality".
People are often divided. Many people feel that dreams are more similar to games than waking reality, and since the whole dream world is created by/consists of only yourself, then you can't really cause any harm or hurt anyone else. There are further debates about the subjectivity of morality and whether there are still the same reasons to avoid certain behaviours within a dream.
There are other people who feel that doing "immoral" actions could have a negative effect on the person's psyche, so they prefer to follow some kind of moral code even in dreams for their own psychological wellbeing.
Others believe that it's possible for dream characters to have their own sentience (eg. shared dreaming, astral planes), and we have a subforum for discussing ideas like that too: Beyond Dreaming.
I hope you won't beat yourself up too much about the dream you had. I have definitely had some lucid dreams where I've behaved in ways that would never usually be in my nature, and I understand that it can be more disturbing than a violent non-lucid dream, because you feel like you were really in control of your actions.
The level of awareness you have in any given lucid dream can vary, and I think the higher the awareness, the better your decision making abilities will be. Maybe you could set a goal for the next time you have a lucid dream, so there'll be something nice/enjoyable that you can remember to try.
Check out our Tasks of the Month if you want some ideas!
