Hello,

First and foremost this looks like a great place! I am glad to finally be posting. THis seems like a great community and I am excited to be here! When i was a kid i would ocassionally have lucid dreams but wasnt very familiar with what was going on so about a year ago i decided to dive in as an adult. I have been trying off and on for a bout a year now.

I have recently been attempting to gain lucidity in dreams and the first thing I have noticed is that my dreams are so much more vivid, which is amazing in itself, however typically when i begin to gain lucidity in dreams I start floating away and the only way I can describe the feeling is that I am being sucked out of the dream. Its like static starts to cloud over everything and then I am awake. It feels the same every time. I say to myself 'This is a dream", i start floating uncontrollably and then the static comes and within what feels like 2-3 minutes of floating off into nothing, i wake up. Any thoughts on this and how to ground oneself in the moment?

A second phenomena I have noticed, is that while i do still have a few recurring dreams, the recurrence has become more like continuations of past dreams. For example last night I had a dream that was a replay of a dream i had prior, but now as an adult. The memories of the original event were so real I woke up trying to decide if the original event really happened. I almost called someone to validate whether or not it happened in my waking life past. Is this a pretty common phenomena as you become more aware in your dreams, older dreams are easier to recollect?

Thanks everyone and I look forward to being a member!
