Hey there, and welcome to the forums! I hope that you're able to have a lucid dream soon, but remember not to get frustrated if you don't have it and that persistence is one of your fundamental keys.

Now, I can relate a lot to having trouble falling asleep when you're waking up. It is hard--and, unfortunately, one of the best ways to have a lucid dream. When you first wake up it's important that you write down something about whatever you dreamed though, so I suggest writing down just a few things from your dream that will help you jog your memory (e.g., little ball bouncing, seen black cat, dude was driving) for when you're fully awake and so you can write a more detailed entry later. Don't get out of bed unless you just absolutely have to, because that will only serve to wake you up more (and thus make it harder to go to sleep)! Also, if light is one of your biggest problems, then get a sleep mask.

Oh! And set your alarm for about three hours after you know you will fall asleep. It's much easier to go back to sleep when you haven't had six or over hours! ^_^
