      new newbie

      Hey everyone I'm new.

I've been able to lucid dream for as long as I can remember, and as of 2012-ish I discovered what lucid dreaming actually was and have been obsessed ever since. Unfortunately It also fed into my now-ended obsession with horror and creepypastas. I was 13.

It makes be sad that I can't really talk about how rich and vivid they are to the people I know in real life- the times I've been fangirling or unable to stop recalling something traumatizing (both two extremes) from the night before never go anywhere. I just can't believe it took me this long to find this forum! Aside from talking about my own experiences I always love hearing the stories, theories, anecdotes etc. of others. Dreams are usually deeply personal and understanding other people is just...really satisfying for some reason.

Over the years I've realised/decided that all of my dreams, lucid or not, fall into specific geographical zones. Yellow is Australia and the ocean that surrounds it, Home is Hong Kong/China, Elsewhere is somewhere that can be conceivably tied to reality, Nowhere is...not something that could conceivably tied to reality, and The Underground is a fascinating web of tiny villages and regular subways that lead to each zone. My absolute favourite thing to do is explore.

Despite my enthusiasm though, most of my dreams are technically nightmares. But that's because they've always felt like stories too.

Something I really want to learn how to do is have better control of physical 'reality'. It would be interesting to direct the story myself rather than be an active participant (while realizing none of it is actually happening). Once I'm out of school I'm going to start posting dream journals too, as well as the dreams I can remember from my lifetime so far. Four weeks and I'm out of here o_o

      Anyway. I'm hyped

      to DreamViews!

Wow, your depiction of your dream world is fascinating. I would love to hear more, if you feel like starting a thread about it. Whenever you get a chance, ofc.

I travel to other countries in my non-lucids very often, maybe because I love geography. Happy dreams

Awesome! Welcome to DV! I figured out about LDing since I was 20, so a little older than you, I didn't really get into it until I was 21 though, so you got a big headstart on me.

Lucid dreaming is a great and fun way to travel around the dream world. It is awesome to see someone that pays attention and looks at their dream world as a whole. In my lucid dreams and non lucid dreams I am in Zödra. I was in training to be a protector of it, but have gotten side tracked and left it to itself for a while now. Mainly due to differing sidequests to get stronger or have fun. I also have my own fair share of badies that come along and try to destroy the world or me, so it is a super fun action world. If ever I want to get away, I can also just teleport to a different realm, either one with no consequences or one with its own rules. I have some friends too, so I can always just hang out and have fun with them.

Lucid dreaming, or knowing that it is a dream during the dream, doesn't always come with any control, and sometimes lacks any control. In being in the same world, then any time I gain a skill, it is gained for good, so that is helpful. Here is a thread on different types of dream control!
