      Hello

Until half a year ago I had maybe 2-3 spontaneous lucid dreams. They were not very special, except the last one.
It was very vivid and I could clearly remember it. When I woke up I was very excited and immediately typed something like "when you know you are dreaming" into google.
That's how I learned the proper term - Lucid Dreaming.

I started researching the topic on internet, practicing different techniques. About 4 months ago I was very excited to have my first, properly initiated lucid dream.
Since then I had maybe 8 lucid dreams (about 2 per months). Only the DILD technique woks for me currently, except once.
At that one time I realized I was probably dreaming, but woke up immediately before doing a reality check. But somehow I wished myself back within a few seconds and I knew I was dreaming. Still did a reality check to make sure.

I hope to master the WILD technique soon.

Welcome to Dream Views! I am glad this forum is here for everyone. When I was 14 or so few people had heard of lucid dreaming and I would have to buy a book. There was only a handful. Now you can find any info you desire. We are here to help.
Congrats on having so much luck with DILD! It is also cool that you had that dream before looking it up. There is a lot you can work on and practice in DILD that will help later with WILD. My honest opinion is that you should not mess with WILD much for some time. WILD is almost an advanced Yogic state of existing between asleep and awake. It can be frustrating for a very advanced DILD dreamer to learn WILD. Spend some time developing a lucid dream routine that advances your skill with DILD. For now you can read about both and every other topic to. Topics to consider: stabilization, MILD, awareness as a skill. Have fun!

Welcome, Pulthar! Glad to have you join us. As mentioned by Lang, we’ve got lots of resources here covering WILD but also DILD and other techniques. Personally, I am a fan of mix and matching. At any rate, be sure to have a solid foundation of daytime awareness which will boost your chances of getting lucid from any technique.
