      Arrow Hello!

Hi everyone. I have been here before, but I don't remember my username as this was back in 2012 or so.

I became interested in lucid dreaming when I was 16, and bought Stephen Laberge's "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaing." I then found everything I could on the internet, including this website, and consumed as much of the material as I could.

However, as Stephen himself says in his book, you have to actually do it. I've had lucid moments in dreams before, but my recall is terrible because I've never kept a regular journal. I started one a few days ago and my recall is already better. I just need to keep up with it this time!

Hi Doc- welcome back. And same here; trying to get back into LDing. A couple things that may help:

      1) whenever you wake up in the night- make sure to take time to recall dream; be still with eyes closed (try not to fall asleep, of course). THEN get up and journal. Sometimes if you get up too quick you lose some of the dream.

      2) Keep checking back on DV, read posts, make posts, just be active sometime before going to bed. It keeps lucid dreaming on your mind.

      Good luck, oneironaut!

I experienced this last night. One time I woke up and tried to recall the dream and set my intention to remember it when I woke up and then went back to bed. Another time I woke up and got up to use the toilet without thinking about the dream and lost it. When I finally got up in the morning, I remembered my earlier dream and the one I was just in, but not the middle. It is hard to remember to stay still for a few seconds when waking up! One of my favorite techniques I've ever had work was the dream exit induction, where you stay completely still when you wake up and immediately do a WILD. Hoping I can get back to that soon.

Welcome back Journaling is definitely hard work, but I can't think of anything more important to increasing lucidity. Good luck keeping up with yours!

      Welcome back!

To keep up with dream journalling, make it a habit to give a title to each dream, that way you will have the main theme in your mind, then focus on any events surrounding it.
