Websites like this arent cheap. And especially if you bought it. Then you need to make up for it. Besides, I visit sites with many adds. As long as the site is good and the ads not too intursive. Its OK.

Leave Kaniaz alone. Hes one of the big parts of this community, and hes been part of it much longer then you have. You have no right to speak on those terms. This is a big change for many of us, were, unlike new members like you, we have to get used to it. Its also flamers like you we've avoided for years, so I suggest watching your words. Flames, esspcially against respected members who have been part of this community longer then even some of the moderating team (such as myself) will not be tolerated. Your telling people to suck it up, I suggest you do the same.

This site has been running for years, ad free. Ice Dawg made and upkept this site for a long time, completely free and ad-free. This is a big change, which you have no real right to discuss on the same level as we do as you haven't experienced the community as we have.

Also, agreed with ExoByte - I'm sick of people that have been around here for two weeks telling old members "You don't even know! Maybe you should do THIS instead." Perhaps people should work on accepting the fact that there is already a well established community here, and people have found their place within it. Do your best to fit in before you start making criticisms left and right.

*shrug* different people handle change in different ways...some people just CANNOT handle it at all, and lash out. It's only human I guess... Personally I pattern my life around change, and if I was still in charge and actually had the time I used to have it'd be just about time to introduce a whole new set of changes here again. I kind of believe none of us are born at all anywhere close to where our true potential lies, and we're supposed to constantly change and grow to arrive at that point...but that's just me (blah, blah blah right?)

Regardless, I'm glad some of you are trying to make asher feel more at home here...thanks guys, you're great.

Yes, well advertisements are not change for the better. Your speech is now null.

With the rather large investment that Asher made into DV, Ads are to be expected. I was just saying in my previous post as a point to MoD. But, nonetheless, as much as Ads may be annoying, Asher needs to somehow get his investment back. Whether the ads will be removed after he does, is his choice.

But once again, they will not affect registered members, nor will they be banners or pop ups on the site. They will merely be text ads (as we've been led to believe, but once again, Asher's ball field).

In the end, we're going to have to get used to it. Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

But I still agree that ads are going to be a pain nonetheless. If only we could come up with some other way...

Thank you for reiterating what every other person said. I was simply justifying my reasoning behind not wanting the change, instead of embracing it and "patterning my life around it."

The ADs are probably here forever. It makes no sense to buy a website, maximize it for profit and then remove the thing that is generating revinue when the capital investment has been met.

DV would have had advertisement anyway, Howietzer and I were looking into that ourselves before the sale.

Business is business i guess...

personally i HATE advertisements.. especially on Sky digital!.. i dont want a loan, i dont need to consolidate my debts into one manageable monthly payment, i dont want to su anyone for my stupidity and i really dont care how good that shampoo is.. i wont be making that noise in the shower unless im using it somewhere else..
BUT moving far away from the negative i can say google has it right.. targetted low key non intrusive marketing isnt... that... bad. I can live with it and i fully understand why its needed, aslong as its not enough to scare people from joining the site and doesnt affect the 'feel'..

Anyway, as Seeker had said they were looking into advertising, and I had wanted to try Google Ads here as well. Thus, it was always going to happen at some point.

...look on the bright side guys! dv is extremely blue. everything is blue, or white which is also boring. Now we get some color to dv lol. it was bound to happen and ads arent even that big of a deal. Its not like they are forcing you to buy their stuff and they arent going to get in the way of reading or replying so yeah...
