SP is Sleep Paralysis. It's a state where your body is a sleep but your mind is still concious of your enviroment. In this state it is difficult to move. you may even have dreams overlap into your conciousness at this state.

SP is one of the many acronyms you'll come to know and love here on the Dream Views forum. It stands for Sleep Paralysis, which is a state of immobility one experiences at the beginning of REM sleep, right before a dream. It can be accompanied by a variety of sensations, most common are vibrations and hypnogogia. It's in no way harmful, and happens multiple times per night (assuming you're getting the right amount of sleep).

And, as a resource for any other acronyms on this site, click here.

EDIT: Oh, drat. It seems Ranma beat me to it. It was finding the link that slowed me down, really.

SP is "sleep paralysis", and it's exactly what it says. One's body will become completely paralyzed; you won't be able to move. Some people seem to confuse being in a VERY relaxed state for SP. Make no mistake, in SP you are really paralyzed!

It's often accompanied by sensations of tingling and rumbling, and strange noises. Many people complain of a pressure on their chest, and difficulty breathing. SP can be scary, but with practice, this fear can be overcome. It is induced by staying conscious while one's body falls asleep. Being completely relaxed but mentally awake seems to be the key.

I hope that helped! Welcome to DV, btw.
