Hi, Seeker28.

Thanks for the words of welcome.

I agree that not all dreams are of the same quality. In my terms, some carry less information than others. As to where they come from, well, since all matter / energy embeds information, and all matter / energy is entangled at the quantum level, it's hard to say. Quantum physics says that probably nothing is really isolated from anything else (quantum entanglement), and that energy can interact instantaneously over any arbitrary distance (Einstein's "spooky action at a distance").

It's one thing to read this as dry scientific theory, quite another to really realize it viscerally as a fact of one's own life, another still to then begin to have extraordinary new evidence in the form of dreams.

So, because of both the science and the substance of my dreams, I never assumed any real difference, in terms of potential information effects and influence, between waking life and dream life.

Again, this all started about five years ago. I've already written about my first experience in another thread (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=67417).

To quote:
----------
The first such [anomalous] dream was a view looking down (as if from a news camera) from about 1000 feet over the runway of a small/medium airport. A passenger jet, like an MD-80, was taking off. It was full color, very vivid, and I can still clearly remember details of the plane and airport. I watched it gain speed, lift a bit off the runway, then fall back down to crash at the end of the runway. As the scene closed, a narrator said "We will have further information on the source of this extraordinary footage in a later broadcast." Well. This wasn't misty, foggy, ambiguous in any sense. I was clearly plugged in to something extraordinary.

I've been actively reading in lay science for about 15 years now, focusing on a number of areas converging around the intersection of the quantum and the cognitive: chaos theory, information theory, computation, genetics, artificial intelligence, neurology, cosmology, geometry, quantum theory, relativity, etc. etc. Thus, I was pretty much steeped in these areas before my dreams began. Also, as a lawyer, well ... I was compelled to search for good rules. I incorporated all of this background in my developing understanding and practice of my dreams.

It's weird. Many many threads are starting to converge between these areas of science. Basically, the broadest outlines of the answers to “life, the universe and everything”, are slowly emerging. The keys largely relate to information and consciousness, and (since information is also energy) their interaction with material existence and time itself. Information is energy. That is really the key. That and ethics.

So, Pandora's Box (“paradox”, in fact) is steadily creaking open: especially, given the emerging power of our technology and information ... precisely now. We live in a truly critical time – a time, catalyzed by converging information and expanding technology. The effect is that the spiritual and the material have begun to converge and interact as never before (or, equally likely ... as they always have). I believe that the range of dreams related here at DV is further evidence of this.

One of the core characteristics of this convergence, and probably a key requirement for the simplicity necessary for success, is that so very few people are aware of it.

But life does seem to imitate art. So, I encourage everyone to become a lay scientist in your areas of interest, read all that you possibly can of the state of the art. For anyone interested in dreams, I might suggest starting here: http://www.emergentmind.org/

Best,
