Angry Recall out of sight! (out of mind)

So, my dream recall each night is usually either nothing, or a tiny fragment/image/about 3 seconds of something. SOMETIMES, very occasionally, I can connect one of those fragments to a prior event in the dream, and get an idea of what it MIGHT have been about. Any tips? I've been trying fairly hard daily to RC, and keep a DJ every day since mid-September 2008. Dream recall is just something that's very hard for me. I have a very bad memory already. What can I do to help this problem?

      A very despondent dreamer

PS - I was remembering more dreams before, could just be a coincidence? I came pretty close to WILDing last night, but I always fall asleep.

Heya, and welcome (first time I see you)

Tell us.. how do you wake up? Do you use an alarm? Do you jump up and do your DJ straight away?

I reccomend going to bed and waking up at the same time each day if you don't already. It helps.

      Same on weekends?

On which days do you find you have the best recall?

I asked particular questions. Can't help you unless you answer them
I suspect you aren't waking up optimally for dream recall.

i heard if you take Galantamine 4-8 mg and choline 400 mg that it will make you have lucid dreams way easier and dramatically increase dream recall and clarity of dreams

oh and dreaming herbs are supposed to help alot

Usually, to be honest, right before I realize I'll be late for school if I don't skip grooming and breakfast (lol).

I try to DJ sometimes, but usually I just get up immediately, and think about my dreams so I can jot down a few lines on my PC and finish the whole thing when I get home. I use an annoyingly loud alarm, also.

Well there's your problem. Give yourself some extra time in the morning to dedicate to recall.

Would a little time actually make much of a difference? Just wondering. I'm worried maybe some people, like me, do not have the ability to accurately recall full dreams regularly. Thanks for the help thus far.

Everyone can recall dreams, some people just might have to work a bit harder at first then others

YES. Get up five minutes earlier. Write down a couple main points, finish the rest during your first class. It's only five extra minutes. Exactly how bad do you want this?

Hmm. I already replied to this, but my reply got lost somewhere in the internets

That extra time to recall your dreams makes a huge difference. Don't underestimate it.
My strong suggestion is that you don't jump out of bed straight away, rather lie in the same posture (or as much as possible) and contemplate the bits you remember. Even if they're just how you feel after the dream. Think about why it happened/why you feel like that, and what happened after, etc.

Then AFTER you have a firm grasp on as much of the dream as you can, then get up and jot down bullet points in your DJ.
If you have the time, fill out details after that
