      Question Reality state checking

I'm doing alot of ''Am i dreaming or awake'' and i do it when alot of small things happen like i hear a noise outside or even just for the hell of it when nothing is happening. I do 50+ state checking a day i've only been doing it for a few days. Is doing state checks when not much is happening a bad technique? or should i just stick to state checking when strange things happen or when i have strong emotions?

Thanks if you can help me out.. i'm very new to this and lucid dreaming is always running through my i'm very excited about learning this unbelieveable hobbie.

Feel free to e-mail myself or leave a post thank you.

if your always doing it then its going to transfer to your dreams. But with so much checking going on i can you see you missing a lucid moment because you got confused. Try to bring your checking down to something more....stable like time. Everytime you see a clock, watch, cell phone clock, anything like that. You reality check

As long as you are putting a lot of thought and effort and awareness into each check, you can never to TOO many

wow shift. couldnt have said it better
or could I? hmm... not really

Make sure you aren't blindly performing these tasks. I think for them to work best you need to put plenty of focus into the reality check - and if you feel that have to, stop whatever you are doing and really think about it. there is my opinion

      good luck

      I agree.

Doing reality checks as simply routine rather then a wholehearted attempt to increase your chances at lucidity tends to make them fail when you finally are in the dream world =/

last night i RCd in a dream but didnt become lucid. i dont remember if the check failed or not but it didnt work. that was my first day of RCing (often ill DILD without them) though and i always really think 'am i dreaming' quite hard. i dont think we can expect RCing to work all the time but the more often its done in dreamstate the more likely one is to become lucid, according to the rules of chance anyway. And to make it happen more often in dreamstate is to do it more in wakingstate id assume.

Speaking of rc somtime's they can hit you from out of the blue.Me myself i dont do rc because im a lazy bastard. But a night ago i was dreaming and i notice a poster on a wall saying are you dreaming do a rc.So i did and i look at my hand and my thumb was flat and smooshed and dripping like candle wax.I stood there for like 3 seconds saying this aint real. Then i knew i was dreaming so then i just went trying stuff and checking thing's out.Must have lasted for about 15 or 20 minute's. But anyway yeah rc can show up at anytime when your not even trying.

Unlike most threads i get half hearted replies. The lucid community is very helpful i'll be making this my home of lucid dreaming threads for sure.
