      Welcome.
I've never tried controlling people, per say, but when I ask them to do something they always say yes

When a DC defies your control, try hitting it with strong emotions. Strong emotions are the best way to influence a DCs behavior.

To expand on The Cusp, strong emotions doesn't mean anger (it can, threatening to kill a DC can get you what you want,) but giving it a hug and a kiss can work just as well.

Remember DCs are part of you. If you feel any doubt, or guilt about controlling them, they will not obey. That is common anyway. just remember they are not real so you shouldn't have any guilt about it (I say this because some people are guilty about it), and also remember that they are part of your mind, so there should be no reason for you not to be able to control them.

Also, if you feel doubtful that your control will be succesful, it also may not work. Just get into the habit of expecting your control to be effective, and surprised when it doesn't. Of course, didfferent things work for different people. This thread has several good suggestions.
