Lack of sleep due to excess dreaming

      Hi All,

I have a serious problem related to dreaming. Sometimes what happens with me is, whenever I sleep; I get almost 3-4 dreams back to back in a span of approx. 15 minutes. After that I get up and then I am unable to sleep further. This is not a regular phenomenon, but happens with me quite frequently. It occurs anytime, be it in the afternoon or in the night.

Can someone help me out with spotting the reason for this. It would be a great help.

      Thanks,
      MD

It doesn't seem that you have a problem with exes dreaming. To me it sounds like your having trouble sleeping. Possible stress is keeps waking you up from your dreams then does not allow you to sleep any longer. I'm not sure whats causing it but it is not related to excess dreaming, your just remembering more dreams from waking up in the middle of them.

Also welcome to dream views! If you wanted to when this happens you could try not moving for a couple seconds to a minute and go right back into the dream and have a lucid. Check out the DEILD tutorial in the tutorial section.

Keep a written DJ by your bed and write out some short notes so you can do recall fully later. That way you can let the dreams go and focus on sleep again. Otherwise it's like your computer can't shut down because there are too many programs still running.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

When we sleep, we usually dream in the last part of a sleep cycle. So dreaming normally occurs when you are in a relatively light sleep. It is likely that you are not getting enough quality sleep--that you are going into a light sleep, and not getting enoguh deep sleep. Dreams would only be a side-effect of this.

This is probably something you will need to bring up with your doctor, who might be able to determine if you are really having any problems sleeping. They may tell you to try an over the counter sleep aide or something like that.

I think Sugarglider and Naiya pointed out the cause to your problem pretty well. If you are still having trouble with sleep, you should try relaxation and meditation to deepen yourself in sleep. I am probably not helping much, but pheh.
