Talking Dedicated N00B Ready to Start Lucid Adventures!

      All,

How's everyone? I've been reading this site for a few days now and I'm soaking everything up like a sponge. Since I'm on deployment (Navy) right now I thought it would be a good time to "escape".

I have a dream journal and I started recording dreams two nights ago. Both nights I've remembered and written down 3 dreams.
I have also ordered "Dreamamins" to help me go lucid and they should be here in a couple weeks. I look forward to contributing to this interesting site awake and in my dreams!

By the way I see that a few people here are from the Netherlands. I was in Oslo, Norway earlier this year. Beautiful country! Hopefully you all can curb the influx of Muslims though, lol.. Anyways I'm glad to be here and I hope to go lucid very soon!

Do you do reality checks during the day, it's very useful if you want to get lucid without using a WILD or a MILD. I was also in Norway and Olso a few weeks ago, its indeed a beautiful country and I'm also Dutch. Nederland voor het leven

Welcome to DV! With what everyone else said, ditto. I would definately suggest that you check out the tutorial section. That is a great asset to newcomers and veterans alike. Hope to see you around the forums!

      Thumbs up

Thank you all for your welcome and that my deployment goes well. I'm keeping a dream journal and I read the tutorials among other threads regularly. As a matter of fact, last night I had 3 Recalls and 1 False Awakening last night.

I woke up after about 5 hours of sleep (I did already have one dream recall when I woke up by alarm at this time) before REM so I could WBTB and tell myself things like:

"I will know when I'm dreaming"
      "I will lucid dream"
"I will do a reality check"
      ...Just like in the tutorials.

My false awakening was quite funny. I "woke up" and writing a quite entry in my dream journal.. then I actually woke up for real and had to write it again lol! I do need to work more on doing RC's during the day.

Anyways I'll get into the Dream Journal section soon and also other areas of this board. I can't wait to go lucid. I'm sure the Dreamamins I'll get in a couple weeks will help if I'm not going lucid already.

I've had this before; I could remember writing down a really detailed dream on some paper by my bed, but when I woke up from the false awakening I couldn't remember any of the dream that had come before

I have good dream recall since keeping a dream journal and writing thing down waking up. Usually I'll remember about 3. The only this is though is that my dreams are kind of lame. Like they are just every day events with a little bit of imagination here and there. Whether my dreams are pure fantasy or normal day to day things my goal is lucidity.

I set my alarm last night after 5 hours of sleep. And every 45 minutes three times after that. I think I'll just stick to doing one alarm wakeup after 5 hours of sleep and try a DEILD. I'll begin posting parts of my dream journal maybe tomrrow.
