      There is no simple answer to this. A lot of it is up to you. You have the desire to lucid dream, which helps. You also need to follow the techniques and keep a dream journal.
      I get lazy, I keep a dream journal, but in the morning, sometimes I make the mistake of choosing to sleep an extra 10 minutes rather then write. Getting lazy with your lucid dreaming keeps you from having them.

      I got a vivid lucid dream a few weeks ago, and immediately found this forum. Following the DILD techniques (with reality checks, etc), I got my second within three days. It's important not to make them routine, however; you just have to be skeptical about the world around you. This consciousness will follow into your dreams eventually. Now, I don't even have to RC in order to attain lucidity. I just know because of how powerful my skepticism is.
      We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
      some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
