First Lucid!

Well, I had my first LD last night. Before I went to bed I was reading my DJ and realized that in almost every dream I had, I flew somewhere. I started thinking that the next time I flew I would be dreaming. Anyway, I went to bed, and began dreaming. In my first dream, I was in my upstairs hallway, which is right above my living room. You can look over the railing and see into my living room. I was jumping off of it and flying around. After doing this for a while. I thought "Hey! I'm flying! This must be a dream!" And then BOOM! I was lucid. Let me just say that the realism is amazing! It's just as great as everyone says, and I was skeptical. Anyway, the dream started fading away, so I rubbed my hands together and said "Increase lucidity." There was a flash of light, and then everything was even more vivid than the real world. I'm not even sure if that's possible, but that's what it felt like. I decided to head outside, because if I was flying already, I might as well be outside. On my way out the door everything just went all black, without any warning. I was pretty sad.

Oh well, at least I had my first LD! I also remembered four dreams last night including the lucid, but I didn't become lucid in my other dreams.

I'm not sure if that's a MILD or a DILD, as I was thinking that the next time I flew I would be dreaming, but I also do random RCs during the day. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Thanks for reading this far.

I think it's a DILD, because you became lucid when you realized you were flying. Good going, by the way!

Awesome i had my first lucid dream last night too! but i screwed it up by waking up due to some weird thing. My first lucid was a DILD too. That's kinda weird that we both got our first lucid on the same night.

You would be surprised...
Some guy, Mario and I had our first lucid dream on October 4th, and all 3 of us had gotten into Lucid Dreaming less than 2 weeks before that I believe

That dream sounds great, congrats! I had my first totally controlled LD a few weeks ago. Isn't flying the funnest thing?? I always hope i'll wake in a dream and start flying.

Brandon982, I've got a funny story for you. I've never shot a kamehameha but once a giant robot was destroying a city and I knew I was the only one who could stop it, so i ran towards it and jumped into the air and flew to its face and fed it some serious punches and kicks, so fast you couldn't even see my limbs move, just like in DB! then i spun out of control and woke up...

but i like your goal haha

WHAT THE HELL
I had a dream just like this about 1 month ago!!, in the dream however, I was Goku (child goku), except I didn't wake up during the battle, I was actually able to defeat it. But I wasn't alone, another person who I have never seen in real life was fighting beside me (shared dream anyone xD?)

Hehe, congratulations, you are absolutely right! Sometimes it feels more real than reality! But when we wake up we cannot describe it to others what we mean

It was a DILD by recognising a dream sign. If you were able to become lucid through a dream sign and you have this sign often then you will have a lot of LDs in the future.

Try to maintain a good dream recall, have premeditated tasks to do in your LDs, dont get a lot of excited and with more experience your will be having longer LDs.

That's interesting that your increased clarity came via flash of light. For me, when I needed to increase the clarity, I had to touch something (in my case, I touched a glass door, which felt cool), and it was like I was in a dimly lit room and someone turned the light on. Everything literally just went brighter with no fancy show, hehe

I'd have to agree and say it's a DILD, but it does make me question my own understanding of what a MILD is, and I might have to edit my sig, also

I rather thought a MILD was something you built yourself up towards.

In my case, much like Rainbow's, I specifically taught myself to recognise this particular dream sign. I knew that once I saw it, I would know I'm dreaming. I did this for a good few weeks, reminding myself a few times daily about this dream sign (it reoccurs quite often in my dreams). I chose to class that one dream in my sig as a MILD, because reminding myself of that dream sign was almost like a daily mantra (however I didn't go to sleep with a mantra in mind for it to show up. It randomly, just finally showed up one night).

So... DILD or MILD?

I found dreamviews five days ago, and had my first lucid three days after that.

It is weird, huh? Congrats on the lucid, though.
