      Was I about to WILD?

      Hey Newbie Zone,

I first learned of Lucid Dreaming sometime last year, which led to me finding this site. I was a lot more impatient back then, and also had a very bad sleep schedule which made it impossible to make any progress.

I'm doing reality checks in the day to hopefully increase chances of MILDing, but I also try WILDing, as I find it a more exciting prospect.

Okay, so last night. Before going to bed, I planned to set an alarm to wake myself about 4 hours sleep. But I'd had a relatively stressful day, so found it difficult to drop off, and ended up cancelling my alarm because so much time had passed. I decided to try and just go straight into it, and lay on my back. I followed Clarity's tutorial, sooner than I expected I started to feel vibrations, saw a few patterns on my eyelids.

My heart started to be very rapidly, and gradually things just died down, I open my eyes and sat up suddenly (I'd felt quite a rush of things.) It's quite easy for me to get to this stage, but what do I do once I'm there? Just as I can feel myself entering my dream, everything stops.

It is quite possible that you are getting too emotional (most likely too excited or apprehensive) causing you to pay too much attention to what is coming up, rather then just sitting back and allowing the process to happen. Stay calm and relaxed and allow yourself to fall into the the dream on its own. Make sure you perform a RC when you sit up or the process just stops. Sometimes you will be within the dream and not realize it. If you still have trouble transitioning, try to create/imagine a dream scene around you. Then immerse yourself within this scene, allowing you to "jump start" the LD. Good luck to you!

It sounds like your WILD attempt took you right to the edge of success. It is common to get stuck at this point in the WILD if you attempt it when you first go to sleep at night. If you try the same thing after a few hours of sleep, you should have an easier time entering into a dream.

      Hi Chuckles.

I think Yoshi mentioned already the most important things, but what I can tell you, for me it is very similar. My heart feels like it is beating a thousand times in a second, but don't worry about that. See it as the beginning of your lucid dream. When you start seeing Pictures, calmly observe them until they form a scenery. Just let it happen, the dream will form around you after a while.

VERY improtant!! WILD's start fairly often with a False Awakening", so you might acutally sit in your dreambed.

      Cheers
