Hi, 1st post. Stuck on WILDs... Had a fair few occasional DILDS (lurked DV a while unregistered)...

      Hi,

      Its my first post...
Ive lurked the site unregistered for a few weeks, then registered about a week ago..

OK... So because Ive lurked the site, I know some of the terminology and differences techniques and ,things... (WILD vs DILD induction, and FA,RC,SP shorthand etc...)

My history is I'm guessing like most people... Sometimes per night, when I'm dreaming....
      • I don't know about it at all (I'm dead to the world) ... ~60%
      • I'm 'actually there', but havn't worked out its a dream so take it for granted ... ~35%
      • I'm 'actually there', and something 'clicks' and I realise i'm dreaming... ~5-10%

I get spontainiously 'lucid' roughly on average every 2 to 2.5 weeks.. With differing levels of control... I'm trying to WILD 'force' lots more!!!

Anyway enough about how I got here...
I've tried WILDs through various techniques on the forum (I like Yoshi's seems most promising...)

What I experience is.... (when trying them after a few hours sleep!!!)
I'll get to a point where I'll get faint wobbly coloured patch(s) fading in an out of my vision, there will be some more movement in these as they get brighter & progress over time... Pinks, greens, blues etc... They will start to take on more complex 'northern lights' type streaky 'organic' patterns...

The music I listen to at low level on my iPod when I try the WILD seems to muffle out, and seems to be replaced a feeling that my head is stuffed with cotton wool & a 'white noise' roaring sound... And I'll start to get slightly 'buzzy/prickly' feelings in places like my mobile left on silent setting...

Two things can go wrong here:-
My heart feels as if its pounding/racing, and I concentrate/worry on that.. lose what I'm upto and have to stop to either try to sleep or sit up in bed...

Or... my eyes just seem to drift open... But I pass a RC, because I reach over, hit the backlight button on my clock, and it does read the same twice (apart from a few secs between reads)

Why can I so 'all the way' and enter a dream.. whats up??

Don't focus on your heart of anything going on around you. Instead Start to visualize and smell your dream scene and stay calm. HI is basicly the right before part of entering a LD.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are getting close. WILD is really a meditation or trance, so if you do not have meditative skills, it is going to be a B$#ch! Stick with it, but you will want to develop enough calming skills to keep yourself from panic or excitation.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

Hello MattyB, glad you finally decided to post! If you get lucid about twice a month with DILDs, why not focus on becoming more aware of your surroundings?

Though you seem to be making good progress in WILD too! A few other forum members discussed similar issues recently. I know it can be difficult, but try to not focus on your body. WILD can be rather difficult to learn, so just keep at it.

If you've been lurking for a few weeks already, you might already know that there's a WILD course being taught in the DVA. You might want to consider joining that if you're having difficulty with WILD. I'm sure if you keep practicing, you can succeed on your own though. You're so close to succeeding!
