Awesome night. READ if you need help?

I drank a glass of water and apple juice before going to bed, I highly recommend doing this if you have dream recall trouble or can't remember waking up in the middle of the night. I think this fills your bladder, and your body tells you to get up and pee, even though I had no urge to get up and pee or wet the bed, haha. I had four dreams that I can all remember. I think I may have had 6, but they were foggy and I can't remember them all.

And DO reality checks in the daytime. Look at your hands and repeat some sort of line every couple hours, because I remember looking at my hands in the dream. They looked normal, just a bit blurry. I'm pretty sure I WASN'T lucid though. But the fact that I looked at my hands was pretty amazing to me, and that my reality checks I practice in the day time finally transferred over to my dreams.

I remember waking up at least twice last night after dreams, around 3AM once, and the other I didn't check the time. I wanted to try to WILD or DEILD, but I fell asleep too fast, I was very tired, and still am.

So DRINK before you go to bed, it might work for you. AND keep a dream journal, it helps with recall. I use "Dream Journal 2.5"

Try the FILD technique and let me know if it works. I just read about it and it seems like it will work well for someone that falls asleep while trying to WILD because I do the same thing. I will try and stay focused then end up falling asleep.

First off, congrats on your success! I also often drink apple juice just before bed. Apple juice contains B6 and B6 can help improve the clarity and vividness in your dreams.

This is a good method to use if you are wanting to try a WBTB WILD, but can't/don't want to use an alarm. Drink a couple glasses of fluids just before bed and your body/mind will naturally wake up during the night so you can use the restroom.

When attempting a WBTB WILD, I suggest getting up out of bed and staying awake for 5-20 minutes before laying back down and attempting the WILD. The idea is to wake yourself up enough to where you won't unconsciously fall back to sleep too easily, but also not so much that you can't fall back to sleep. Remember, you want to fall asleep when WILDing. That is the whole point. If you don't fall asleep, you can't WILD. However, the key is to fall asleep consciously. If you have trouble falling back to sleep, I suggest shorter time periods (5-10 minutes staying awake). If you are one of those people (like me) who can sleep any time, any place and fall back to sleep easily, I suggest the longer time periods (10-20 minutes staying awake). Its one of those things you need to experiment with and see what works best for you.

Thanks Yoshi. My dream recall alone has skyrocketed. I remember at least 1 dream every night, compared to one dream every few days or week. I'm not sure what I should be trying, if I wake up in the night, and remember a dream, should I try a DEILD and go into sleep paralysis by not moving, or would a WBTB be better? I guess I'll just have to try it out. I have tried DEILDing before, and have gotten into sleep paralysis twice. I tried to WILD nap one day and almost got into sleep paralysis... it's all so fun.

Something that helped my dream recall a LOT is using mantra's. I used to remember only a dream every few weeks and then while going to sleep, kept repeating "I will remember my dreams." in my head until I fell asleep, that night I remembered five dreams, after sometime of using that mantra it is just normal for me to remember about three or more dreams a night, like my mind has been reprogrammed to remember them.

In order to DEILD (w/o being lucid in the previous dream), you have to "catch" yourself waking up. If you become aware/conscious as you are waking up, then this would be an excellent time to DEILD. Before you are even fully awake (as you are waking up), stay completely still and keep your eyes closed. It should only take a couple minutes (at the most) to transition, so if you didn't re-enter the dream state, it probably failed and you can give a WBTB WILD a shot. DEILDs are also great for chaining lucids. If you have a lucid dream and you feel yourself waking up/the dream becomes unstabile and start to wake up, just prepare to DEILD and you can go right back into a lucid dream. Also, if you have one of those experiences where you become lucid right at the end of a dream, a DEILD can be performed to extend that lucidity.

I would suggest you go ahead and try the DEILD...if you haven't re-entered a dream after a few minutes, go ahead and change your focus to WILD (WBTB).

You should definitely get out of bed for a few minutes if it is at all possible. It really helps your recall and chances of lucidity.
