      Worried about what I see

Hey all, I'm guessing lucid dreaming is responsible for this, when I wake Up/go to sleep/ about to go to sleep, panic and jump out of my bed in fear because there are people in my room, get sucked into my bed, feel way to heavy, start choaking on things that I think iv'e swallowed and then realise it's physically impossible to swallow that object because it's to big lol. I've got to ask, thoes people I see, they're part of my imagination? I feel crazy, I told my mum about this (I'm 17! bet she thinks i'm mad!) Is this lucid dreaming? Are there ways to stop it? because everytime it happenes it shakes me up for the rest of the day. And this is a really stupid question, but the feeling of being sucked down, that's not me going to hell or anything like that? I feel like a right tard posting this but it's scaring the shite out of me lol. (3:30am can't sleep!)

      Hey, welcome to DV!

I don't think you're crazy, and don't let yourself ever think that about yourself. I think you should work on deep breathing and trying to stay focused and calm. The next time you see the people, why not try to talk to them? If you feel like you're choking, try to breathe slowly or just put all your intentions into turning the moment/experience into something that's positive. Is there something about the people that makes you afraid? Why? Have they ever tried to attack you and do you think they are going to? Maybe try communicating with them. If you expect them to be scary they probably will be. If you expect something bad to happen to you, it will probably happen.

Have you read any of the tutorials on the site? I think that fully understanding what a dream is, learning about REM cycles, when they occur, hypnogogic imagery, etc... Could help you determine what it is that you're experiencing.

I wish you the best of luck, and feel free to ask me any question you may have!

Thanks for the quick reply caco!
I can't calm down, I instantly panic when these things start happening
I doubt I'll be able to talk to them, I'm not normally able to move when I see them and even if I could, I'd be struck stiff with fear... not used to seeing people gathered around me bed.
Yeah, I'll have a look around the forums, just worried that reading about this will make it worse!
      Thanks again!

Yeah, I agree with madmonkey, it is sleep paralysis and hypnagogic hallucination. It is no big deal, nothing to worry about. Read some stories of sleep paralysis and hypnagogic hallucinations in google and you will see that they resemble yours very much. Read the tutorials on lucid dreaming, the instructions are to think positive, dont be scared and just lie still, you are very close to getting into a dream stage when this happens.

Okay guys, I'll have a look around the forums, i'm guessing when i start thinking positive i'll start seeing positive things? Didn't sleep at-all last night been to collage and now back home, going to take some nightnurse to knock me out tonight.

Ps: glad it's just hullucinations, I can cope with that.

When I was a kid, my bed would spin as I fell asleep. I made it stop. I wish I could get it to spin again, but I can hardly ever do it anymore.

Well the reality is that you are dealing with some kind of fear. You need to conquer your fears. Its one of the most difficult things we have to do in our lives IMO. You probably have a fear of the unknown or a fear of death more specifically. Look at this way. You are dying hundreds and thousands of death because of your fear and in reality you die only once. If you conquer your fear, you will release a great weight and empower yourself in a way you can't possibly imagine. Its much easier said that done to be sure and will take time, but like anything else, if you make it a focus, it will be overcome. Also if you can, aske the people you see what they want exactly. You might be surprised at the answer. Lastly you are not crazy, you are just more aware. The reality of what is going on in this world is something most people don't want to hear.

ohsotired, new to site, be careful of nightnurse, . positive thinking is limited, especially when something scares the the crap out of you, have you a friend you can trust to stay with you, then take control of your dreams from there. my main advise is feel your in a safe environment first then you can start to enjoy the whole realm of your intellect
