      Lucid Dream Progress?

Hello everyone! I have been reading some of the tutorials and such for lucid dream on this sight for a while. Which are really great by the way!

Anyway, I just now joined this wonderful sight and wasn't sure about my dream I had the other night.

I don't remember most of the dream, forgot to write it down >.>, but I was in a back room of some restaurant when I noticed some girl crying to herself in a corner. I tried talking to her for a bit and we had a lot of things in common. But right in the middle of the conversation I just stopped and thought. The next thing I knew I was rubbing my hands together then I stood up and did a spinning jump.

By now the girl was looking at me oddly and questioned what I was doing. I just replied, "I'm really not sure." Then it actually felt myself grabbing her hand and leading her out of the building. I never before in a dream actually felt like that before...

Now I'm not sure if this dream was technically a "Lucid" or not but I'm guessing I did a reality check in the dream? I have just recently begun to do mantras and reality checks throughout the day.

if at any point during the dream you realized you were dreaming then it was lucid. this just sounds like a regular dream to me

I started recently too and have had dreams about dreaming and doing reality checks as well. Since a large component of dreams is day residue, it is only natural that bits and pieces of the things we're learning make it in to our dreams on some form. Personally, I'm choosing to take it as a positive sign that I'm going in the right direction.

      Welcome to the site!

You must be making really quick progress if you already did reality checks in your dream ( I RARELY do them in dreams). The problem though is that you never knew [I]why[I] you were doing them thus you never knew that you were dreaming. A lucid dream is knowing that you are. Don't worry about it though. I once read something, and then read it again but then I figured it wasn't a big deal (though that is a reality check, one of the very few i've done). Just remember throughout the day, WHY you are doing these checks, and you should be fine.

      Good luck my friend!

      Welcome!
Technically, lucid dreaming means dreaming while knowing that you are dreaming. I'd say you were semi-lucid. Which basically means you had semi-awareness of the fact that you are dreaming.
Anyways, do not lose hope. If you only recently started, I think you are doing great. Just stick to it, and you'll get the hang of it soon. Good luck!

The shattered heart weeps of hidden sorrow.
And over a pure white sky,
      rises a black moon.'

Your dreams seem to be getting more vivid. This is a good sign that you are on the right track
