A Hello and a Few Questions

Hi there! My name is James White and I'm from Colorado. I've been reading over the site for quite a while but finally decided to register haha.

I've been interested in lucid dreams and astral projections for about 3 months and have actually managed 2 lucid and one out of body experience (at least, what I believe was one).

Lately I've been having short dreams that are very vivid, but oddly short and one after another. I used to have very long dreams that I enjoyed more, is there any way to make my dreams longer again? Also, is a handwritten dream journal the way to go?

      Thanks!

      Welcome to DreamViews

Yes, you can make dreams longer. You just need to stabilize the dream by getting more involved in the dream some how. For me, I focus on a tree or something or my hands. Others will rub their hands together, etc.

I don't believe it matters what kind of dream journal you use.

What kinds of lucid dreams have you been having? If you don't mind me asking.

      Hello!

I'm new too, but I figured I'd pipe in about the journal - I could never get the hang of a written journal in the middle of the night (always losing the pen in the dark, etc.) so I used to send myself a fast text message with a few key words about the dream, and then type up the dream the next morning when I was able. I used to use a separate journaling webiste for my own records before finding the Dream Journals here that we can use. Maybe check that out!

Thank you both! Believe it or not, I had a lucid dream last night when trying the FILD method, and I took both of your information into the dream with me. I feel like involving myself in every moment of the dream made it much longer, and I never lost control of it. When I woke up I typed the experience up on my phone, very good idea! So thank you both, the experience was amazing!

And Louie54 - The past 2 lucids I had were both about work unfortunately. Things got so bizarre that I realized I had to have been dreaming. I had a little bit of fun in one of them and told my boss what I thought about him
