Talking I Think I had my first Lucid Dream Last Night!

Well when I woke up this morning I was pretty disappointed. I didn't even remember any dreams. I was so sure that I was going to have a lucid dream (I've been getting closer lately). Since then I kept having this nagging feeling of a dream that I couldn't quite remember, like snippets that would come back. I realized that I maybe could have had a lucid dream last night.

And then just a short while ago I was reading Laberge's Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming and I read a bit on the spinning technique. I suddenly got the strong memory of me realizing I was lucid and trying to spin while watching my hands. I think I lost the dream at that point and I don't remember anything else.

I don't know if this is just wishful thinking, or really hazy memories of a brief, first lucid. But it's exciting

A lot of times if I have no recall, I'll imagine myself doing various reality checks to see if it sparks my memory of any lucids during the night. If that doesn't work, I'll just list random words in my head to get the same effect.

You'd be surprised how often that actually works. I think that after a while, the words you list stop becoming "random," and actually come from the subconscious memory.

Hm...well, if you did the spinning method, then it's about a 90% chance is was a lucid dream. I dunno. My guess, is it was an LD, but it was too vivid to remember clearly. It's happened to me.

Umm...first off, how did you come to the conclusion that if he spun he had a 90% chance he was lucid? If he knew he was dreaming he was lucid. It doesn't have anything to do with spinning or what you do in a dream.

How do you get this percentage?

Umm why would a more vivd dream be harder to remeber. I could understand a blurry dream with no clairity but idk about a very vivd dream.

I think you became lucid good job

Thanks, it was pretty exciting, even if I did dream about dreaming it's closer than I've been before. 90% sounds good to me. I mean, just because I woke up and vaguely remembered something about spinning and hands doesn't guarantee I was lucid, that 10% just leaves chance for me to have just imagined the whole thing And trust me it was far far far away from being too vivid, it was anything but vivid. Interesting thought about extra vividness making it hard to remember though, I can kind of see how that might work.

This. It just doesn't make sense, along with the percentages. I would also like an explanation.

Kevojy, I also think this was your first lucid dream. If you're still not sure, I highly suggest using Hazel's method. It's ingenious, and I can say with certainty that it works with trying to remember lost normal dreams as well, seeing as I just did it yesterday.
