Here is my therapy session. Please include the nicest thing anyone has ever said to you as well. Most hurtful I was once talking to my ex-gf (who I still consider one of my closest friends) about making friends at university. She said something like, "You're a nice person. You just have low emotional intelligence." Loosely defined, EI is the ability to recognize and react to other people's emotions...like your ability to make someone else feel good about themselves. It was basically my best friend, who has never said anything bad about anybody ever, telling me that I suck at being a friend. And telling me that I am nice, as if it's some redeeming feature for my innate emotional defect (overanalysis...I know). Ever since then I've always felt that I suck at relating to people and that all my current friends are offering their friendship to me as a form of charity or pity. Nicest thing By brother, while completely drunk, saying "You just have a great heart, and everyone knows it." You'd think him being drunk would kind of ruin it, but he said it with such sincerity. Please DV, tell me yours.

Most hurtful My sister told me, "I wish you were dead" once while we were in the car and I basically cried all the way through school that day. At the time she was three years younger than me, and I was only fourteen. Nicest A man I met at school once said, "you're going to go far in life because you're a very gifted artist." That's one of the nicer things, I can't remember THE nicest at the moment though.

Althought it may not seem like it, it is not all the things said to me but one. If my IQ test would have gone as expected, I would have been put into a school for the mentally challenged, however it went far the other way. So, it put me into a class where one has almost no one to ....... It really don't matter. We don't live for pain or pleasure. It is what we accomplish--even if no one cares. That is just life.

Most hurtfull When I was 6-7 years, me and my mother got home at 2-3AM she being completly drunk. I go sit in the couch watching her drunken wagle and suddenly she gets this intense rage yelling at me that I'm the worst kid and blaming me for all her misery and some other stuff. Ofcourse I somewhere knew she didn't meant this, becuase when sober she was the most caring and loving mother, oh damn I miss her. Nicest When 9 years old I was at my brothers home. We went in the car to go somewhere and my brother gives me 10 euro's just so, and he jokes 'Now I'm broke' So I say than keep it, I don't need it. He convinces me to keep it, and tells me I have a good heart. He's the only person ever telling me this though.

Worst thing: One time my dad went absolutely crazy and screamed that I was a worthless piece of shit in front of my face. Although, my parents used to do that quite alot. I learned not to take it to heart. Nicest: Either the time that one of my guyfriends called me beautiful or the time I was called an amazing pianist/singer.

Most hurtful: "You're a joke" [close second: "All you're good for is _______ on your _____ bed."] Nicest: "You always bring a little sunshine into my day." [close second: "It's so nice how you actually notice things about people"]

I'm a loyal person. An ex told me, "Just don't talk to me ever again." And so I haven't. It's been a year and a half; taking into account how in love I was with her, it's been torture. But fuck it.

This is HARD lol The first meanest thing was my mom telling me, when I was about 8 years old, that I sounded like a dying cow. I had had solo's in school plays. Everyone told me how beautiful my voice was, so what she said really stung and I never sang in front of people again. BUT, in her defense, I DID sound like a dying cow. The love of my life was moving away the next day and I was singing to him through the walls of our military apartment walls. Oddly, my mother has vehemently denied ever saying those words to me. NICEST: I can't recall any specifics. But a lot of people have said I'm pretty or nice or have a nice voice.

Most Hurtful: I love you... She said she didn't feel the same the next day...It broke my heart Nicest: You're the smartest 17 year old I know. I'm sure there is something that would be considered better, but this came from my brother and meant a lot to me.
