Thread: Do you laugh at yourself?

I laugh at myself all the time. I think some people learn along the way that it is easier to laugh your way through life

I don't often, but I do. Usually it's because of a joke or something

Gosh all the time. Sometimes random thoughts pop into my head which I find funny or I'll do something random, not knowing where the hell it came from, and find it hilarious. I then end up cracking up and my friends give me weird looks and are like "Kor snap out of it!"

I like it though. Laughing is one of my favourite things to do.

I LOVE it when you find something so funny that you laugh so much you cry and your stomach hurts like crazy, but you just cannot stop laughing. Especially when your friends are doing the exact same thing. Best thing ever...

I do the same thing, Rasp. Then I think about how crazy or idiotic I must look, and I laugh even harder.

It depends what you mean by 'laugh at yourself'. If it's laughing about stupid things I do, no, not usually. Probably a few times in my life, but I tend to get upset when I do stupid things. It bothers me, so it isn't funny. If I laugh at myself for doing something stupid, it will be in a ridiculing way that is basically just masking putting myself down. If you mean laughing at having come up with a joke in my head, or having thought something funny, I do sometimes. But as your friend said, it has less effect when it comes from me and not from someone else.

No because I don't bully myself. I do laugh at others though.

I laugh at myself all the time, but usually in a manner described by Dianeva- only, I don't do it to be mean to myself.
Like, the other day, I walked to Exxon and bought a sweet tea. I sat at my desk and shook it. I started watching something, picked up my tea and shook it again, not remembering I took the cap off the last time I shook it lol. Half of the tea went flying everywhere. "You stupid idiot!" "Someone's having a dumb moment" "Maybe you should go back to bed" "Freagin idiot!" *rofl*
If I mess up around other people though, it's harder for me to laugh at myself. I have no idea why, but I just die of embarrassment, try to shrug it away and pretend nothing happened.
